Rev. K. B. Pass- more officiated. Organist Mrs. ,Don Robertson accompanied the soloist, Miss Dianne Watson, who sang "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring", "A Time • for Us" and "Walk Hand in Hand Parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. William Harris of Wing - ham. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Percy Clark also of Wingham. Given in marriage by her father, the bride chose a floor - length gown of lagoda crepe fashioned with scoop neckline, long sleeves and detachable cathedral train. The neckline, train and front of gown were appliqued with guipure fare. A lace headpiece held her cathedral illusion veil and she carried a col- onial bouquet of pale pink roses, white carnations, stephanotis and baby's breath: Mrs. Harry Gordon of St. Marys was matron on honor and bridesmaids were Mrs. Lloyd —Snyder Studio Flaro of Fort Erie and Miss Nancy King of Teeswater. They. wore floor -length Victorian - styled dresses in muted tones of blue, green and pink sheer over robin egg' blue polyester crepe. Each gown featured a high ruffled neckline, full sleetves. gathered ipto long tight cuffs, self bow and sash and a deep hemline ruffle. They wore matching 'roses in their hair, blue shoes, and carried white baskets of pink and white shasta mums and baby's. breath. Gary Reed of Windsor was groomsman and guests were ushered by Brian Carr of Port Elgin and Greg Hazlitt of God- erich. Male members of the wed- ding party , wore black double- breasted Edwardian tuxedos with blue ruffled shirts. Pink, blue and white flowers enhanced the tables at the Pine Room, Blue Barn, Listowel, for ' the reception which followed. The bride's table was centered by a three -tiered wedding cake. Master of ceremonies was the bride's uncle, Harold A. Bell of Listowel. The bride's mother wore a dress of hot pink polyester chiffon over taffeta styled with natural waistline, A-line skirt, high neck- line and long full sleeves. The dress was trimmed with match- ing guipure lace and her acces- sories matched her dress. A° white rose corsage completed her ensemble. The groom's mother chose a princess dress of blue chiffon with belted waistline, long sleeves, V neckline with ruffle trim. She wore matching' access sories and a pale pink rose cor- sage. For (ravelling to Quebec City and Montreal the bride donned a navy and. white ensemble ac- cented by a navy picture hat, white accessories and a corsage of red roses. They are residing in Toronto. The groom is a graduate of the faculty ,of mathematics, � vAfi- �,,,, >' sity of Waterloo and the bride,Ika graduate in educational psychol- ogy from the University of West - _ern Ontario. Both are teaching in Toronto. Out-of-town guests attended the wedding from Burlington, Goder- ich, Galt, Kitchener, Kincardine, London, Listowel, Ottawa, Rip- ley, Toronto, Windsor, Walkerton and Teeswater: Mrs. Perey Har- ris of Wingham, the bride's pa- ternal- grandmother; .was an honored guest. Church. Many useful and attractive gifts were presented tp the -bride- to-be who was assisted by her mother, Mrs. Ross Hast s and her sisters, Carol and arlene. Her grandmother, Mrs. Mar- garet Hastings, was also in atten- dance. Miss Ha'stings graciously thanked those present. Aoderich teacher will seek ND'P nomination Shirley Weary, a Goderich resi ent'- and secondary school teacher at Central Huron Second- ary School, Clinton, has an- nounced her intention to seek the NDP nomination for Huron in the October 30 federal election. She indicated that she will contest the party nomination at the upcom- ing meeting for the Huron New Democratic Riding Association, which will be held in about two weeks' time. Riding officials in- dicated that other names will be forthcoming for the position as well. The Riding Association Execu- tive will meet Tuesday, Septeln- ber 6 to consolidate plans for the nomination meeting and discuss initial strategies for the election plan. It is anticipated that the Huron NDP will launch their campaign officially at the conclu- sion of the nomination meeting. Meanwhile plans are unfolding for the type of campaign that will be waged and key party workers and potential candidates will par- ticipate in the federal NDP kick- off meeting to be held in Toronto this weekend. David Lewis, Na- tional NDP leader will be the keynote speaker at that time. MR. AND MRS. JIM SWAN -were married Saturday, Aug- ust 26, in the Wingham United Church. Given in marriage by her father, the bride was gowned in white lagoda with Belgian lace accenting the high neckline and long full sleeves with deep cuffs. A long detachable train fell from the empire waistline and her, tiered silk illusion veil fell from a - cluster . of rosebuds and seed pearls. She wore an heirloom necklace and carried a cascade bouquet of Orange Delight roses centred with a white orchid, Matron of honor was Mrs. Gary Leitch, sister of the bride, of Lon- don, and bridesmaids were Miss Joanne Robson of London and Mrs. William Phelan of Goderich. They were gowned alike in floor - length dresses of chiffon over taf- 'feta featuring apricot bodices, long sheer sleeves, ruffled neck- lines and' deep ruffled skirts of apricot and green floral design. The modified empire waistlines *were accented with matching ribbon 'trim. They wore apricot feathered carnations in their hair and carried nosegays of white shasta mums, tinted apricot carnations and *baby's breath. The bride's niece, Miss Julie Leitch of London yvas flowergirl, gowned in a dress similar to that of the bride, with short sleeves and empire waistline accented with apricot ribbon. She wore apricot flowers in her hair and carried a miniature nosegay. WINGHAM UNITED CHURCH was the setting for the mar- riage of Patricia Rose Doll and Ian George Bustard on Saturday, August 26th. Parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Charles Doll of Hamilton. The groom is the son of Mr. And Mrs. John Bustard of Howick, Quebec. Mr, and Mrs. Bustard are residing in Hamilton. The.groom is also a Madill graduate, He attended Fanshawe College, London, Atld Brady to speak at Fluron annual of Cancer Society A record attendance is ex- pected when the Huron Unit of the Canadian Cancer Society meets in Clinton next Tuesday for the annual dinner meeting. The guest speaker will be one of. Canada's best known radio and television personalities, ain Brady, director of the London - Middlesex Unit of the Canadian Cancer Society. Mr. Brady chairs their s ial event committee. 7 Huro Unit President, Mrs. Durst, says they are expecting branch' office members, vol- unteers throughout the county and other interested citizens to come and hear Bill Brady speak. Huiiiii County has raised $28,- 631 in donations so far for the 1972 campaign. Officers of the unit warned that there is little time left before it is over. They wore matching green crepe gowns with flowered bodices, white picture hats and carried cascades of Bob Cook of London was groomsman and ushers were Murray K.rajaefski of Waterloo and Geoff Peterson of St. Catha- rines. A dinner and reception were held at the Waterloo Legion Hall. Mr. and Mrs.. Hall will live in London.
