Clarence Bender of Fordwich re-
cently returned from a three-
week motor trip to Victoria, B.C.,
and other western points where
they visited relatives.. They re-
turned by way of Cochrane and a
train trip to Moosonee.
Mr. and Mrs. Roy McDougall
attended the Dundalk fair on Sat-
urday.
Quite a number from the
vicinity attended the Steam En-
gine Parade at Blyth on Satur-
day.
Miss Sherrin Miller of Listowel
spent the weekend with her
parents.
Mr. and Mrs. Austin Stinson
spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs.
George Richards in London and
attended the Western Fair.
Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Miller,
Lori and Grant visited Sunday
with Mr. and Mrs. Ken Stickney
near Elmira.
Bill Richards spent a few days
last week with his grandparents,
Mr. and Mra. Austin Stinson,
then left over the weekend to
commence his studies at The
University of Western Ontario.
Mr. and Mrs. Bruce- Fletcher of
Toronto spent the weekend with
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Brown.

Food, Farm Credit Corporation
and the AgriculturalRehabili-
tation and Developinent Ad-
ministration.

will work closely with farm

appointment is part of the
continuing expansion of the
Agricultural. Department of
the , Commerce which now
includes specialists in Ontario,'

Church Woinen held their open-
ing fall meeting in the Sunday
school room on Thursday after-
noon.
Mrs. Scott Clarkson, first vice
president, presided for the pro-
gram. The scripture. from Psalm
105 and.John 15 was read' by Mrs.
Clare Harris. ,
The meditation on the there
"Joy" .was presented by Mrs..
Clarkson and Mrs. Harris,
The feature, "The Bringer of
Life", was given by Mrs. William
Wilson. • Mrs. Ben Gibson, presi=
dent, presided for the business
period with Mrs. Crosby Sotheran
acting as secretary. The roll call
was answered by `Summer
Highlights".
The UCW entry in the fairl'iro-
ject. "A Nursery Rhyme" was
discussed. The committee in
charge of this project is Mrs. Ben
Gibson, Mrs. Clare Harris, Mrs.
Jim Timperley..and Mrs. Bruce
Agla.
A thank you note was read from -
Miss Mary Cattanach. •
'It 'was decided to have a fowl
supper on November ist.
Mrs. Gibson closed the meeting
with a reading from the Observer
and gave the benediction. .

The first meeting of the Wroxe-
ter No. 2 4-H club was held at the
home of Ann Gibson on Sept. 6.
The meeting started with the
'election of officers; president,
Debbie Small; vice president,
Gloria Ruttan; treasurer, Lynn
Shore; press reporter, Brenda
Brown. For the next meeting
members were to vote on the fol-
lowing items: picnic, barbecue,
or a patio party. A patio party
was decided on. It will be held
Wednesday; Sept. 13 at AnnGib-
son's home. Members also made
