Ann McKercher of Jamestown
was honored at a shower in
Wroxeter, attended by relatives.
Mrs. Lyle Hart was hostess as-
sisted b • Mrs. Wallace Nixon.
The bride -elect, Mrs. McKercher
and Mrs. Larsen were ushered to
seats of honor after receiving
corsages.
After contests were played
Miss McKercher was presented
with many miscellaneous gifts
from a wishing well by Susan and
Diane Hart. A bride's book made
by.Patti Hart was then presented
and passed around.
Miss McKercher expressed her
thanks for the lovely gifts and
lunch was served.

on August 4 in donor of Miss BeV-
erley Newton at the home of Mrs.
Lorne Mann, when 34) friends and
neighbors attended.

Celebrate 40th anniversary
GORRIE — Rev. and Mrs.
George W. Sach .of the United
Church celebrated their 40th
wedding anniversary on -Sunday,
Aug. 13. They were married Aug-
ust 13, 1932 in London, England
by Rev. Ralph Alderson.
Stuart Dodd, Weeley, England,
had charge of the guest book.
Miss Margaret Sach oP Lucan
was co -hostess.
The cake, - a round two storey
cake was an exact replica of the
original, one.
'Mrs. Stanley Lockwood, Wing -
ham, formerly of Wroxeter and
Mrs. Alex Edgar of Gorrie pour-
ed tea in the afternooi and in the
evening Mrs. George Gibson of
Wroxeter and Mrs. Gla,dstonne
Edgar, Gorrie presided at the tea
table. The ladies of both Wroxe-
ter and Gorrie assisted in serving
tea. Approximately 200 attended
open house. at the manse.

rew's Presbyterian Church,
Wingham, at 4:30 p.m.
The bride is th daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Donal Wallace, RR 2,
Wingham. Parents of the groom
are Mr. and Mrs. John McBurn-
ey, RR 1, Wingham.
Given in marriage by her fath-
er, the bride chose a dress of
while crystal lagoda with match-
ing train; both ‘he dress and train
were trimmed with wide Belgium
lace. Her shoulder -length veil
was held in place by a tiara of ir-
ridescent pearls and she carried
a cascade bouquet of yellow
mums, roses and ivy.
Miss Donna Wallace was maid
of honor and bridesmaids were
Marjorie Eadie of Wingham and
Mary Barger of Lucknow. They
wore identical gowns of mauve
and turquoise figured sheer trim-
med with mauve velvet ribbon.
White picture hats completed
their ensembles and they carried
cascade bouquets of white shasta
daisies.
Junior bridesmaid was Corey
Wallace in deep mauve crepe
with matching trim. She carried
a basket of yellow shasta daisies.
Jack Ross of RR 1, Wroxeter,
was groomsman and guests were
ushered by Barry Hogg of Gorrie
and Douglas McBurney, brother
of the groom, of RR 1, Wingham.
-A reception. followed at the
Wingham Legion Hall. The
bride's mother, receiving the
guests, chose a floor -length gown
of mauve figured sheer, white ac-
cessories and a corssage of
carnations. She was assisted by
the groom's mother, who chose a
floor -length gown of apricot
figured sheer, white accessories
and a corsage of carnations.
For travelling, the bride wore a
long dr e of candy pink fortrel, a
pink picture hat, white acces-
sories and a corsage of white
carnations.
Mr. and Mrs. McBurney will
reside at RR I, Wingham.
Prior to her wedding the bride
was the recipient of a kitchen
shower held at the home of Marj-
orie Eadie, Wingham; a Miscel-
laneous shower at the home of
Mrs. Shirley Grant of Teeswater,
aunt of the groom; a bathroom
showery held at The home of Mr.
and Mrs. Bill Maitin, Drayton.
The bride's aunt, Mrs. Jack Ter-
vit of Wingham, held a lingerie
shower and the couple was pre-
sented with a swag lamp and wall
plaques by the management and
staff of IGA.

boarding school and medical
work (dispensary) covering an
area 300 square miles. In winter
they travelled by dog sled and in
the short summer bymotor boat:
Mrs. Sach was in .charge of the
nursing home and specialized in
medwifery, teaching many Eski-
mo women. °
The people of Howick Township
and Molesworth area have
recently shown great interest in
the Moravian Mission in Labra-
dor and have subscribed over
$800 for a snowmobile for the
Rev. Victor Launder, the - mis-
sionary at Makkovik. The snow-
mobile was delivered last week
as well as a.Ski-Boose which was
given by the Gorrie-Wfoxeter
Young People.
The couple spent 11 years in
Labrador, five years in Jamaica
and more . recently at Bervie,
Lucan and Gorrie. •
Grey Twp. farmer dies in hospital
Funeral service was held Fri- ris Township, he was a son of the

Funeral Home in Brussels, for Moses. He farmed on the 9th con -

Mrs. Hugh Thompson of Sea -
forth died suddenly in Seaforth
Hospital on July 27th. •
Mrs. Thompson was the former
Margaret. Pearl Irwin, daughter
of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas
Irwin of East Wawanosh Town-
ship. She was married in 1936 to
Hugh Thompson, who survives
with one son Kenneth M. of Bur-
lington; three brothers, Gordon
of Toronto, William and Howard .
of Wingham; two sisters, Mrs.
Robert (Verna) Wilson and Mrs.
James (Hazel) Campbell both of
Wingham; and four grandchil-
dren.
She was a member of Northside
United Church and Edelweiss
Rebekah Lodge, Seaforth.
Funeral service was held from
the R. S. Box,funeral Horne, Sea -
forth, at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 29.
Rev. T. C. Mulholland officiated.
Burial was in Maitland 'Bank
Cemetery. Pallbearers were
David Stewart, James A. Stew-
art, Jack Matthews, John Ball.
John Hoelscher and Claire Reith.
Flower bearers were Jack
Thompson,- Charles MacKay,
Bruce Hoelscher and Thomas Ir-
win.

Mr. Moses was predeceased by.
his first wife, the former Agnes
Ireland, in 1928. In 1937 he mar-
ried the former Ethel Mathers
.who survives with two' sons,
Archie of Grey Township and Bill
at home; and one daughter, -
Kathryn of Toronto.` Also surviv-
ing are two grandchildren.
