Church, Wingham, of Arie de
Bruyn .and Anne Meyer. The

Mrs. Edward Barnes, a native
'of Ireland, died Tuesday, July 4
in Wingham and District Hospital
.•following a short illness.
The former Evelyn Rooney,
daughter of the late Henry Roo-
ney and Margarer'1461611ih>;Vas
born December 5, 1886 in Kilkell,
Ireland, where she attended
school. •
She had resided in Wingham.
since 1919 where she married Ed-
ward Barnes on June (30 of that
year in St. Paul's Anglican
Church. Mr. Barnes predeceased
her in 1959.
Mrs. Barnes had been a mem-
ber of St. Paul's Altar Guild and
the Afternoon Ladies' Auxiliary.
She is survived by two sisters
and one brother, Louise of
Ladner, B.C., and Willie and Jane
in Ireland, as well as one niece,
Mrs. Mabel Thomas of Mount
Forest:'
Besides her husband, she was
predeceased by a son, Fenton
Barnes, in 1948.
Also left to mourn are Mr. add
Mrs. Arthur Stone and family, 21
George St., Wingham, with whom
she had resided for the past eight
and a half years.
Rev. C. F, Johnston officiated
for. the service July 5 at the R. A.
Currie & Son Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were meinbers of the
Royal Canadian Legion, Branch
180, Dave Crothers, Harry Mont-
gomery, Lloyd Carter, Doug
Aitchison, Don Adalns and Bert
Morin.
Burial was in Wingham.

Ontario Provincial Police in-
vestigated both mishaps.
On Monday, July 3, cars driven

16. Damages to both cars were
estimated at $600 and Mr. Ament
received minor injuries.
Two people were injured
Thursday when cars driven by
Sydney G. Hopkins and Ezra Kel-
ler were involved in an accident
on Huron County Road 30, west of
the. Howie -Minto bouhdary..Mr:
Hopkins and a passenger, Betty
'Hopkins, received injuries as a
result. Damages. were estimated
at $1,550.
In other accidents during the
week, minor damages were
caused on Monday, July 3, when a
car driven by Barbara J. Black of
Belgrave left the road, struck a
