and has been handed down
through the generations.
The bride's sister, Miss Velma
Fear of Blyth, was maid of honor
and bridesmaids were Mrs. Keri
Hunter of Collingwood and Mrs.
Don Cassidy of Kitchener. They
were gowned alike in floor -length
silk organza dresses. They were
styled with orange and yellow
flowered skirts and white bodices
with long, full 'sleeves. Each
attendant wore orange flowerets
in her hair and carried a bouquet
of flowers in colors harmonizing
with the skirt of her dress.
Don Cassidy of Kitchener was
groomsman and guests were
ushered by Bill Fear of Blyth and
Bill Stoeser of Kitchener.
Following the ceremony guests
were received at a reception at
Wollner's Lodge, RR 3, Sk
Jacobs. The bride's mother wore
a floor -length gown of coral poly-
ester,, crepe and lace with a
matching rose corsage.. The
mother of the groom chose a
floor -length silk organza dress of
mint green. A corsage of salmon -
colored roses completed her en-
semble.
For travelling to Northern On-
tario the bride changed to a navy
and white pant suit with red
accessories.
Mr. and Mrs. Wilson will reside
at 47 Dalegrove Drive in Kitch-
ener.
An honored guest at the wed-
ding of her granddaughter was
Mrs. A. M. Fear of Blyth.

Women's Institute meeting
WHITECHURCH — Mrs. Al-
bert Coultes, hostess for the
Women's Institute meeting Mon-
day evening, had Whitechurch
community hall decorated- with
bouquets.. of summer flowers.
Miss Merle Wilson, the president,
opened the meeting with a poem.
The ode was sung and the Mary
Stewart Collect repeated in
unison.
In the absence of Mrs. Russel
McGuire, Mrs. Victor Emerson
,was a appointed secretary-treas
urer for the meeting. She read the
'minutes and cbrrespon4ence and
gave the financial report. •
Mrs. Bill Evans reported she
had contacted "Act Fast" but
had received no reply as to when
the WI members could attend: the
show.

The ceremony was solemized in
the United Church, Wingham.
Twin candelabra containing yel-
low and white shasta daisies and
yellow candles provided the
theme of decoration •in 'the
church.
The bride is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. John A. Strong of Wing
hafn and the groom is the son of
Mrs. Laura Terriah of Cornwall,
Ontario.
Given in marriage by her fath-
er, the bride wore a Victorian
style gown of white silk organza
with bishop sleeves. The cuffs
and flounced skirt were trimmed
with a delicate rose -paint lace
and satin ribbon. A touch of .yel-
low highlighted the bodice. The
gown was complemented by a
double -tier chapel -length silk il-
lusion; veil on a , wedding ring
headpiece. The, veil was also
trimmed with matching lace and
satin. She carried a.casade of yell -
low and white Sweetheart roses
with lily -of -the -valley entwined.
Miss Carol McFarlane of ,Lon-
don, friend of the bride, was the
maid of honor. Bridesmaids were
Miss Karin Strong, sister of the
bride, and Miss Melanie Harris of
Wingham. They were similarly
dressed in floor -length white dot-
ted swiss over yellow taffeta
trimmed with white lace and long
full dotted swiss sleeves. They
carried bouquets of shasta dais-
ies and yellow mums.
Niece of 'the bride, Jennifer
•
Strong. of Wingham, was flower
girl. She was dressed in a long
white. dress with, high waistband
trimmed with yellow velvet rib-'
bon. She carried a basket of yell,
low and white shasta daisies.
Nephew of the bride, Paul Camp-
bell of Kitchener, was ringbearer
and was dressed similarly to the
ushers.
Best man was Rick Forster of
Hamilton and ushers were Bill
Strong of Wingham and Milan
Plentai of Welland. They wore
black Edwardian style * tuxedos
with blue ruffled shirts.
Following the ceremony a wed-
ding dinner was served in the
Legion hall followed by a recep-
tion a d dance. Music was pro-
vided by Ron Jasper's band.
The bride's mother received
the guests in a floor -length gown
of midnight blue and white
flowered polyester jersey. She
wore a corsage of pink and white
Sweetheart roses. The groom's
• mother wore a floor -length gown
of powder blue and pink flowered
crepe with pink and white Sweet-
heart roses.
For travelling to the Niagara
region the bride chose a double-
knit navy and white dress with
navy checked sleeveless vest and
white accessories. Her corsage
was pink and white baby mums.
Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Flare will
reside in London for the summer
and will move to Fort Erie in the
fall, where the groom has accept-
ed a teaching position.
Out of town guests were from
Washington, Michigan, Brant-
ford, Cornwall, Hamilton, Kit-
chener, Welland, Stayner and,
London. Honored guests were
grandparents of the bride, Mr.
and Mrs. John S. Strong Sr. of
Brantford.
The rehearsal party was held
at the new home of Mr. and Mrs.
John Strong on Victoria Street,
Wingham . Previous to the wed-
ding, Showers were held at the
home of the sister of the bride,
Mrs. Jim Campbell, in 'Elmira, at
Miss Carol McFarlane's home in
London, at the Wingham Legion
hall for neighbors of the bride and
at Miss Melanie Harris' home for
friends of the bride.

terian Church on. Sunday. They
rendered two numbers, "In the
Garden "__and "All through the
Night".
• Rev. R. H. Armstrong was in
charge of the service. The title of
his sermon was, "I Stand at the
Door and Knock", based on the
scripture reading from the third
' chapter of Revelation.
During the month of August, St.
Andrew's services will be con-
, ducted by organizations in the
• church as Mr. Armstrong enjoys
his annual vacation.
If leaders can be found the In-
stitute will sponsor a 441 club for,
the project "Dressing up Vege-
table". It was also decided to
cater for a wedding on September
2nd.
A committee comprised of Mrs.
Johnston Conn, Mrs. Ed Walker,
Mrs. Albert Coultes, Mrs.' Wal-
lace Conn and Mrs. Bob Ross,
was appointed to plan entertain-
ment ,and dinner for the Athlone
Women's Institute of Perth
County.
Roll call was answered by 16
who provided clippings concern-
ing United Nations. Susan and.
Pamela Walker sang "My
Favorite Things" accompanied
by pianist, Mrs. Garnet Farrier.
The motto 'All nations smile in
the same language', was given by
Mrs. George Fisher. Happiness is
in people, not in things. Happi-
ness is being able to endure the
ills and pains of life. It is•health,
peace and confidence. A smile
expresses pleasure, joy, love,
kindness and is reflected by thdse
who receive it. Color of skin is no
barrier to a friendly loving smile.
Following Mrs. Fisher's, tatlk a
sing -song was enjoyed and Mrs.
Dan Tiffin gave current events.
The ,meeting closed and lunch
was served by Mrs. Robert Ross,
Mrs. Bill Evans and Mrs. Johns-
ton Conn. ,

last week for Lage, Germany,
where they will vacation until
August 13th, with Mrs. Richard
Wehmeyer's mother, Mrs. Eliza-

with them after holidaying for the
month of June at the Welameyer «.
