,Before a good crowd last Sun-

home opener as they came up on
the short end of a 4 to 2 count

game.
Owen Sound jumped into the

With the score 4 to 2 the Kings
got »the ninth inning off in fine
fashion, Gord Cerson leading off
with a single, advancing on Ed'
Daer's single. However the
strong arm of Owen Sound pit-
cher Ron Bartley snuffed out the
Kings attack, getting the . next
three batters in order, the last
two by the strike -out route. -
Final. score Owen Sound 4,
Wingham Lumber Kings 2.
Tagging the Bags -Despite the
loss the Kings, came up with a fine
effort. Glad to see coach Ken
Saxton ' giving all players a
chance to get into the game for in
the past it was lack of bench
,.strength which was the Kings'
downfall. `It is only be getting the _
players into the action of the
game that the bench strength de-
velops, particularly in ache fine
young rookies in the Kings' line-
up.
The Brown boys, Wayne and •
Bill, shared the pitching chores.

ber of the strong Owen Sound
