WHITECHURCH. — On Sunday
afternoon Mr. and Mrs. Victor
Wybenga held a worship service
for the folks at Pinecrest Manor,
Lucknow. Mr. Wybenga read
scripture passages and Mrs. Wy-
benga gave the Meditation.
Many of the residents joined in
singing their familiar hymns.
Miss Emma Richardson made
the special request that Mr. _ and
Mrs. Wybenga sing "Abide With
Me" and they sang it as request-
ed.

Mrs. Gidrdon Rintoul and Gayle
visited on Sunday with her
mother, Mrs. Hazel Purdon of
Belgrave.

spent Friday in LQnden.

Plattsville visited Wednesday
and Thursday with her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Ben McClenaghan
and Mr. and Mrs. Carl McClena-
ghan.
Mrs. Jean Mclnnes who -has
been visiting in London, spent the
weekend at her home in Wing -
ham .
Miss Joann Laidlaw, R.N.' of
Goderich spent a few days with
her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elroy
Laidlaw. On Sunday Mr. and
Mrs. Kenneth Laidlaw of London
visited with them.
Carman Whytock was admitted
on Saturday to Wingham and Dis-
trict hospital. '
Word has been received by Mr.
and Mrs, Victor Emerson that
Bert. t Len i Cullimore, owing to
recent surgery, has had to resign
from his position as adminis-
trator of Fairhaven Home for the
aged in Peterborough. A 131 -bed
addition for the home is proposed
to be built this year and Len
Cullimore's knowledge and ex-
perience at. the home will be a
valuable asset in the planning of
this new building. Bert resided
for a time with the late James
and Alfred Emerson.
Sunday visitors with Mr. and
Mrs. Ben McClenaghan and Mr.
and Mrs. Carl McClenaghan were
Mr. and Mrs. Melvin McClena-
ghan of Waterloo and Mr. and
Mrs. Bill Parker of Lucan.
Mr. and Mrs. Percy McClena-
ghan and Gavin of Kitchener are
spending a few days With his
grandninther, Mrs. Lillian, Mc-
Clenaghan.
Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Perrott,

Saturday afternoon Mrs.

Fisher attended a trousseau tea
for Miss Sharyn Mowbray at her
home in Lucknow. On Saturday
evening, Mr. and Mrs. Morrison,
Mr. and Mrs. Machan and Mr.
and Mrs. George Fisher were
dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs.
Ronald Forster of Lucknow.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Alexander
of Wingham were Sunday visitors
with Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Gros-
korth.

WHtTECHURCH—The United
Church Women held their May
meeting last Wednesday after-
noon at the home of Mrs. Lorne
Durnin with Mrs. Clifford Laid-
law, convener of Christian and
missionary education in charge.
She opened the meeting with
the call to worship. The scripture
was read by Mrs. Elmer Sleight -
holm and Mrs. Harold Quipp led
in prayer.
Mrs. Clifford Laidlaw gave an
article on the African States and
the burden they bear. She closed
this part of the meeting with
prayer.
Mrs. Millan Moorepresided for
the business session. The roll call
was answered by 17 members
and a child with a verse from the
Book of Proverbs.
The minutes were read by sec-
retary Mrs. Dave. Gibb; Mrs. Al-
bert Coultes gave the treasurer's
report.
Mrs. Moore gave the courtesy
remarks, thanking Mrs.- Durnin
for the use of her home and to all
those who took part in the meet-
ing. She closed the meeting°with
prayer.
Young people to
'hold record hop.
WHITECHURCH — On Sunday
evening Whitechurch YPS met at
the church. First they attended
choir practice for anniversary
services.
The president Jim de Boer pre-
sided. Ruth Elliott read the scrip=
ture and Ruth Ellen Currie gave
the Meditation, Kathy Wybenga
led in prayer.
Discussion was on special serv-
ice for Mother's Day.
Plans were .made for the Re-
cord Hop on Friday evening, -May
12. •

Mrs. Bob Adams.
Whitechurch 4-H Knifty Knits
held a work meeting on Saturday
at the home of the assistant
leader, Mrs•. Wallace Conn, pre-
paring their exhibit for Achieve-
ment Day. They are to have their
record books in to leader Mrs.
John Gaunt by Saturday. .

warm welcome to Mr. and Mrs.
William Harman and family of
Windsor who have come to the
farm of Russel Gaunt.
Mrs:" Bessie Mullis returned
home on Sunday after spending a
week with her sister, Mrs. Henry
Cousins whose husband recently
passed away near Thamesford.

Trevor.of n and Miss Alm
Conn of Guelph University spent
the weekend with their parents,
Mr. and' lid'Wallace Conn.

family completed moving to their
new home at Clinton on the week-
end.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Craig re-
turned on Thursday to their home
at Scarborough after visiting a
few days with her sister, Mrs.
Robert Ross.
Carolyn and Robin Willis of
Newry spent the weekend with
their grandmother, Mrs. Doris
Willis and visited with their
cousin Lyle Willis.
At the United Church on Snit -
day a vote was taken in regard to
joining with the esbyterian
Church for Sunday service during
the pastor's holidays. The vote
was in favor.
Misses Debbie and Diane
Blackwell, of London spent the
weekend with Misses Doris Rin-
toul and Linda Snowdon. These
four girls live in the same apart-
ment while working in London.
Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Cameron
and Jack of Ashfield were Sunday
evening visitors with Mr.. and
Mrs. Bill Rintoul.
