Rev. G. Russell, of St. George's
Anglican Church, Goderich, con-
ducted a communion service in
the chapel on Friday morning.
A good number of residents
gathered in the auditorium for
Monday afternoon's get-together
with music supplied by Mary
Taylor, Norman Speir and Jerry
Collins. They were accompanied
by Alice Roorda on the piano. A
great deal of credit for the suc-
cess of the afternoon's act' ties
is due to the fine work of thg
musicians and of the five God-
erich lady volunteers, who, f
well as assisting the resider
and from the auditorium', it +
in the dancingand led the sing-
song. Mrs. Gwen Watson of Clin-
ton, an active worker with the
C.N.I.B., spent Monday at
Huronview, visiting and encour-
, agingthose with eyesight prob-
lems.
The Calvinettes, a group of
young people ranging in age from
12-15, from the Clinton Christian
Reformed Church, entertained
several senior citizens from Clin-
ton, including eleven residents
from Huronview.. Mrs. Nellie
Dykstra introduced the program
which included a skit, "The Spin-
sters of Clinton"; several vocal
duets, group singing and a sing-
song. A delicious lunch was
served by the girls and their
mothers. Appreciation for the
enjoyable evening and for the
transportation was expressed by
Miss Marion Grey.
One of the highlights at Huron -
view, the monthly birthday party
was held on Wednesday after-
noon in the auditorium with the
Auburn W.I. as hosts. The 20 cel--
brants each received a gift and a
decorated cupcake with a lighted
candle. Mrs. Betty Archambault
was chairman for the afternoon's
program of readings by Marion
Haggitt; vocal solos by Celia
Taylor, Mabel Brooks, and Laura
Mae Chamney; mouth organ
selections by Ross Robinson.
Mrs. Lois Haines played the
.piano accompaniment for the
various numbers and for the sing-
song which was led by Celia Tay-
lor.
The Huron County Farmers
entertained on Family Night with
a variety concert. Those taking
part were Linda Reid, Alice
Allen, Grant and Lois Jones,
Doug Trewartha, Bill Empey,
Keith Tapp, Glen McNeil, Don
Henry, and Glen and Doris
Patterson.
The square dancing numbers
had everybody's toes tapping and
the residents also enjoyed the two
skits, vocal duets, and a sing -a-
• ng by the group. The residents
tpreciate the interest of the
young people who entertained
and the volunteers who helped
with wheelchairs.
The Huronview Women's
Auxiliary met in the craft room
on Monday afternoon to finalize
plans for the annual blossom tea
and sale on Wednesday, May 3.
