holds annual meeting
BLUEVALE. — The annual
meeting of the United Church
was held on the evening of Febru-
ary 2 with Karel de Koeijer as
chairman and Wm. Peacock as
secretary.
Mier a devotional period
reports, were heard from the
, various church 'organizations.
Bert Garniss reported for the
session and S. Johnston for the
trustees. •
The treasurer, on behalf of the
stewards, reported a satisfactory
financial report. .
Mrs. H. Edgar told of the work
of the U.C.W: and read the finan-
ca it . report . .
The Sunday schoor work was
reviewed by Mrs. 'W. Willits,
Mrs. G. -Fischer told of the work
with Messengers and Mrs. C.
Johnston reported concerning the
choir.
Following the report of the
nominating committeeby George
Thomson. election of officers took
place.
Mrs. J. Wickstead and Mel
Craig were appointeck'°te
session for- another term.
The members of the board of

Edgar, president, conducted the'
first general .rn'eeting • of 'the
United Church Women .on the
afternoon of February 2 in the
Sunday school room. There was a
good attendance.
The devotional period was con-
ducted by Mrs. M. Craig, leader
of. group two. The scripture was
read by Mrs. B. Hastings, and
Mrs. F. Fraser led in prayer.
Mrs Edgar introduced the stiidy
book for the year.
The theme for the ineet1ng,
"Pettiness', was illustrated by a
skit presented by Mrs. L. War-
wick. Mrs. M. Elston and •Mrs. G.
Sellers. Mrs. Mel Craig gave a
devotional talk . on the same

Mrs. W. Stamper. a member of
the Finance and Social Action
Committee', gave a description.of
the duties of her committee.
Mrs. Edgar conducted•the bus-
iness meeting with Mrs. W Pea-
cock reading minutes of the pre-
vious meeting and Mrs. L. War- .
wick presenting a satisfactory fi-
nancial. report .

The Huron -Perth U.C.W. Pres-
byterial to be held in Stratford

New suggestions for work
groups for the U.C.W. were pre-
sented, to be discussed and voted
on at group meetings.
At the conclusion of the meet-
ing a sale of baked articles,
donated by the members, was
held.

the Observer is to be continued
with C. Johnston 'and B. Garniss
in charge.
A vote of thanks. was extended
to Mr. and Mrs. de Koeijer for
their faithful work among the
congregation by Mrs. Willits.

congregation for their kindness
and support during the year to
himself and Mrs. de. Koeijer. ,

served and a social time enjoyed.
