Church Moiler' held their Janu-
ary meeting in the church base-
ment. The president, Mrs. Oliver
Dustow opened the meeting.
Mrs. Ebner Haskins was in
charge of devotions, The hymn
"Will Your Anchor Hold" was
sung, after which Mrs. Bruce
Harkness gave the meditation on
"Taking Inventory". Mrs.
Haskins closed devotions with
prayer.
The roll call was a written
suggestion for the 1972 programs.
Numerous thank you notes were
read by Mrs. Haskins for the
Good Cheer bOxes sent at Christ-
mas.
Mrs: Robert Harkness intro-
duced the new study for 1972,
Africa: For the feature of the
meeting Mrs. Harvey Wright
conducted a Bible quiz.
During the business the ladies
were asked to bring donations for
a bale to be sent to Angola. The
president closed the meeting with
prayer and tea was served by
Mrs. Eldon Renwick.

ary meeting of the. United Church
Women last Wednesday. The
leader, Mrs. Earl Fitch, opened,
the . meeting with a scripture
verse and a selection from The
Upper Room. A reading from the
Reader's Digest was enjoyed and
Mrs. Sangster also read an inter-
esting article.
Mrs. Rutherford read the chap-
ter from the study book and then,
as the new president, she pre-
sided for the business period.
Shirts for Pakistan were
received and plans were renewed
to gather the required articles to
be sent to Angola next month.
Mrs. Doubledee reported a
total of $54.64 frOm the sale of
Christmas cards.
The roll call, a New Year's
Resolution, was answered by 11
ladies. The meeting was closed
with prayer.

Thursday. Mr. McCallum was
named secretary and Mr. Ren-
wick was elected to the board of
directors.
The Belmore Tykes met the
Gorrie Tykes in the Belmore
Arena Saturday afternoon. The
score was 11-1 for Belmore.
Those cdming through with the

Daniel Alvin, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Ross Fitch was baptized at
the Belmore United Chtirch Sun-
day by Rev. K. Wettlaufer of

BELMORE — The January
Meeting of the W.M.S. was held
it• last Wednesday in the basement
f the church. Mrs. George
Nickel, president, opened the
meeting by leading in unison
prayer. The s'cripture passage
was read by Mrs. Bruce Darling.
Mrs. Alvin Mundell 'brought
highlights of the annual meeting
in Wingham. Ideas and require-
ments for the bale were discussed
and plans made for a quilt top to
'be ready for the annual"pot luck
dinner and quilting scheduled
this year for February 16. The
World Day of Prayer for this area
was announced for March 3rd.
Eleven ladies brought used
Christmas cards and read a verse
from one as roll call. Mrs. Bruce
Darling volunteered to look after
flOwers for the winter months.
Minutes were read by Mrs.
Elmer Jeffray. Mrs. George
Nickel will accomphny Mrs.
Alvin Mundell as delegate to
synodical in Hamilton.
Mrs. Ken Dickson, assisted' by
Mrs. John Dickson and Mrs.
Arnold Jeffray gave an interest-
ing discussion on the political and
economicchanges in Southern
Africa. Mrs. Dickson pointed out
the fact that many people had
gone through three stages of
change during their lifetime this
far.
Mrs. Gordon Weir was pre-
sented with a Life Membership
pin by Mrs. Don MacAdam.
The meeting closed with prayer
by Mrs: Selah Breckenridge_

couple of days last week visiting
with her daughter and son-in-law,
Mr. and Mrs. Gary Leitch of Lon-
don, and visited with her mother,

patient in St. Joseph's Hospital,

tended funeral service for their
cousin, Roy Whitney of Brunner,
which took place in Milverton
Presbyterian Church on Sunday.

insurance school at Cedar Glen
Camp, Bolton and,was successful
in passing the provincial exam

Mrs. Brian Workman of Brus-
sels, the former Elaine Robinson
has received word that she was
successful in passing the provin-
cial exalts for hairdressing. Mrs.
Workman is employed at Grace's
Hairstyling Shop in Brussels.

The Brussels Agricultural So-
ciety's annual meeting was held
in the Anglican parish hall, on
Friday evening. President Mur-
ray Hoover presided.
Following the banquet, Neil
Hemingway was presented with a
pen and pencil set by Mr. Hyde,
bank manager of Brussels, for
highest number of points in 4-T1
club work. A trophy was present-
ed by Bruce McCall for best
showmanship in his class at
Brussels Fall Fair.
Grieme Craig'entertained with
musical numbers. • The tres-
urer's report showed a favorable
balance after payment of all 1971
accounts,
The 1972 Brussels Fall Fair will
be held Thursday and Friday,
Oct. 5 and 6.
Edwin Martin showed pictures
taken on their trip to Europe last
