tal, Saskatchewan, on January
18, 1972, Margaret McLean, be-
loved wife of Leonard McLean
of Plenty, Saskatchewan, for-
' Merly of Wingham. Sister-in-
law of Mrs. 41din Purdon and
Mrs. Bert' McLean.
John D. Mowat
dies in Milton
John Douglas Mowat died Wed-
nesday January 19 in Milton Gen- '
eral Hospital following an illness
of several months. He. was In his
78th year.
The late Mr. Mowat was born'
at Warkworth, Ontario, son of the
late Mr. and Mrs. James Mowat.
He resided in Toronto for some
years but for the past 30 years
lived in Milton. •
In 1917 he was married to Jose-
phine Hainstock. daughter 'of the
late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph H.
Hainstock, Fordwich. Mrs.
Mowat predeceased him in
'August 1970. In 1966 they cele-
brated their' golden wedding
anniversary.

Oakville; James and Mrs'. Marti,.
(Ruby ) Caputo, both of Milton
and Douglas of• Huntsville; 15
grandchildren and eidht great-
grandchildren. .He also leaves
one brother, James of Toronto.
FUneral service was held on
Friday afternoon from the M. C.
McKerzie Funeral Home, Milton,
minister of Knox Presbyterian
Church of .which deceased was a
member. in charge. Pallbearers
were John Harris, Allen Gillies,
Jack Mowat and Charles ,Mowal,
Archie Grant and William Grant.

was in 70th year
Death occurred suddenly at his
home in Lucknow on yuesday,
'January 18 of Peter Campbell. in
his 70th year.
Born in West Wawanash Town-
ship Mr. Campbell farmed there
until his retirement' a few years

of family dies

LUcknow died Monday at Wing -
ham and District Hospital „follow-
ing a brief illness. She was in her
88th year and•was the last surviv-
ing member of her family.'
Born 10 I ross Township. Mrs
Simpson was the former Eliza-
beth Ferguson, a daughter of the
late Mr. and Mrs: Alexander Fer-
guson. She received her edUca-
lion in CUlrogS and she and her
husband farmed there until their
retirement -when they mOVed .th
Mr. Simp ,predeeeased his
wife.
Surviving are one daughter,
Mrs. Jalnes (Mary) Henderson of
LucknoW; three sons,' Arthur of
Toronto, Hugh 'of Whitechurch
and Douglas of Tee,swater. She
was predeceased • by one daugh-

Chapel. Final resting place will
be Teeswater Roinan Catholic
Cemetery.
