Alex Donaldson feted them on the ,occasion of their 45th anniversary at Ford- wich Community Hall last Wed- nesday night, Dec. 29. The bride and groom of 45 yea0 ago were married at Clif- ford by.the late Rev. J. H. Miller and Isobel. Miss Linda Mewhinney return- ed home on Thursday, December 30th, following ten days, in St. Jo- seph's Hospital, London, where she underwent foot surgery. Mrs. Jim Aitchison is a patient in Wingham and District Hospital following a fall at her home. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Thompson, Benny and Billy of Mississauga were Christmas visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Gordon McPherson. - Mi.. and Mrs. Glen McDonald and'•Andrew of Woodstock spent a few days with Mr. and Mrs. Har- old Gaunt, Douglas and Janice. Murray Mewhinney of Peter- borough and Douglas'Mewhinney of Milton were Christmas visitors with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Mewhinney. have farmed an additional 20 years. Mrs: Donaldseinalight at SS No. 7 Minto before her marriage. Seventeen years later she re- turned to teach at SS No. 3 Minto then at SS No. 18 Howick and back to SS No. 7 Minto until it was closed and then moved into Mire- to-Clifford in=to-Clifford Central School. Parents and pupils from these schools were present Wednesday night. Posters of pupils of 47 years ago at SS No. 7 Minto; 28 years ago at No. 3 Minto; 21 years ago at No. 18 Howick and five years ago at Minto-CIifford created much interest for those attend- ing. Mr. and Mrs. Donaldson have a family of three sons: Tom on the Minto homestead, Murray on Lot 24, con. 8 Minto, and Al at home. They have five grandchildren. During the celebration cards were enjoyed first, followed by dancing. The music was supplied by Siefert's orchestra. Just before lunch *sand tom.
