Mrs. George E. Wright who
passed away the previous Mon-
dayset the Wingham and District
Hospital, Capt. and Mrs, J. R.
Fearnall of the Wingham Corps
of the Salvation Army conducted
the service which was held at the
R. A. Currie and Son Funeral
Home in Wingham. Interment
followed in the Wingham Ceme-
tery.
Pallbearers were Gordon
Davidson, Ted 'Thompson, Joe
Walker, Norm Walker, Bob
O'Neil andrWilbur Hewitt. Floral
tributes were carried by Susan
and Beverly Gannett.
Mrs. Wright was one of the
area's oldest resients, in her 101st
year. Shefhad resided all her fife.

Mrs. M. Irwin
dies in Listowel
Mrs. Manfred Irwin of Gorrie
died Monday, Dec. 26, in Listowel
Memorial Hospital, following a
lengthy illness. She was ' the
former Edna Elaine Douglas,
daughter of the late Samuel
Douglas and his wife the former
Elizabeth Timm. She was born
June 28, 1902.
Mrs. Irwin was a member of
the Gorrie United Church, and an
active member of the Women's
Association and. later the Vnit•ed
Church Women.
Surviving are her husband; one
son Donald of Goderich ; one
daughter, Mrs. Bower (Helen)
Far
brother, Archie of Toronto; -and
six grandchildren.
Funeral service was held Wed-
nesday, Dec. 29, at the Moir
Funeral Homer, Gorrie, con-
ducted by Rev: George Sach.
Flower bearers were Rickey
and Jeffrey Nay and Tommy and
Billy Graham. '
Pallbearers were Alex Gra-
ham, Bill Nay, Cecil Grainger,
Chester Bennett, Clads O'Krafka
and Beverley Currair.
Temporary entombment was in
Gorrie°Chapel, final resting place
will be Gorrie Cemetery. -

Lawrence Road, Windsor. Mrs.
Messer died in Riverview Hospi-
tal on December 23, following an
illness of two months.
Rev. Sam Hender-soh Offi-
ciated. Temporary entombment
was in Brussels Chapel the
following day and burial will
later be made in Brussels Ceme-
tery.
The former Cora M. Arm-
strong, deceased was the daugh-
ter of the . late Mr. and Mrs.
William H. Armstrong. She was
born in Morris. Township where
she attended SS No. 5. She re-
ceived her high school education
in Brussels and later attended
Stratford Teachers' College. Mrs.
Messer taught in King George
and Ada Richards schools in
Windsor. 41.
Following her marriage, to Mr.
Messer they lived at Ralmerston.
and later in London. She had re-
sided in Windsor since 1953 where
she was a member .of Lincoln
Road United Church.
Predeceased by her husband
and one daughter, Lois, Mrs.
Messer is survived by her son, p
Dr. Vernon Messer of RR 1, River
Cunard and three grandchildren.
Two brothers and a sister, Miss
Martha and Henry Armstrong of
Windsor and Willard Armstrong
of Belgraye also survive: She!was
predeceased by a sister Gertie
and brothers Lawrence and Roy.
