Achievement Day was held Sat-
urday In Howick Central S tl ooh,
AU fifteen club& of 441 girls,
totalling over ninety. attended
and displayed record books and
table ,runners embroidered with
the sevenbasic stitches.
Their free choice articles
ranged„ Wm pillows, tote bags,
wall hangings. place Gnats to
pant suit and 2 -piece skirt and
jacket.
In the morning the girls judg-
ed table runners, planned a wa11
• hanging and worked a sample
of basic embroidery stitches.
A, good attendance of inter-
ested women attended in the
afternoon and enjoyed the slats
and exhibit$ presented by the
club girls. Each girl was pre-
sented with a sterling silver
spoon with 4-11 crest on it.
Mrs. Susan Wheatley of Chir
ton, Huron Home Economist,
was in charge. There are '100
girls in Huron County who took
this project. ,
The afternoon program -in-
cluded the 441 Pledge led by
Club presidents. Gorrie 1, skit,
"Let's Get Ready to Embroider
all members; Lakelet. exhibit,

evening a family dinner was
held at the Redwood Restaurant
in honor fo Mr. and Mr"s: Cecil
Wilson of Fordwich, who are
celebrating their 25th wedding
anniversary this month. °
Following the dinner the
guests were entertained:. at the
home of ° Mr. and Mrs. Robert
Wood.. The evening was spent
visiting, playing games and
contests. 'During the evening
the couple was presented with
flowers, a linen tablecloth and

nesday night with six tables in

ACHIEVEMENT DAY
LAKELET—The Saucy Sev-
ens attended the Achievement
Day at the Howick Centra l
school on Saturday on Needle-
craft: They set up an exhibit
on 'Colour Schemes with Har-
mony'. Linda Douglas was the
commentator. Miss Gladys
Huth was leader for this pro -
ject and Mrs. Henry Hohnstein
assisted.
ENGLISH CUSTOM •
