For example, about 50 per cent of all textiles and wearing apparel now on the market are made of synthetic fibres. Pre- dictions indicate this trend will increase to 60-70 per cent with, in the next few years. Because ,. of society's desire for easy -care garments, most of these fabrics will be water -washable. In keeping with these fabric characteristic changes, appli- ance technology has stressed not only special cycles for cer- tain fabrics, but also economy, convenience, flexibility, as well as capacity, durability, and 'consumer designed' war- ranties. VMS DONIS STORE McPherson Chummy The marriage of Mrs. Bea- trice Aleta Chamney and Mr, William Frededck McPherson of Teeswater was solemnized on Friday, November 21; 1969, in Wingham United Chureh by Mrs. Sam Thompson w the attendants. This over-under approach ' has given birth to "underwear" sweaters that are soft and clingy with ribbing like a man's under- shirt. Flare bot. toms still predominate, although straighter and narrower legs are returning. Skirts come in for less attention. But they are still very much with it in motor- cycle or kiltie wraps peeping out from under long, long Jack- ets or orbiting in full circles above the knee. Tops are usually long with some hip interest such as big, flat pockets or they're stretched out at the waist with a deep band of ribbing. Many tunics have cutaway tank tops that help make the switch from casu- al to dressy, with the addition or deletion of shirts, sweaters, scarves and beads. PERFECTLY PROPORTIONED PANTSUIT in new wine, consists of a sweater -tunic long enough to wear as ,a mini, stretched over sweater - pants. Pockets _large and flat give slight emphasis to the hips. Ribbed V-neck laps over surplice style. Colors are rich but subdued.
