BELMORE--The November
meeting of the McIntosh United
Church Worsen was held last
Wednesday evening in t h e.
church basement with 14 mem-
bers present. The president,
Mrs. Walter Renwick presided
and opelted the meeting with a
thought on Remembrance Day.
- The devotional period was
• conducted by Mrs. Jim Busby.
"Abide With Me" was sung and
Scripture was read by Mrs. 8v-
erett Dustow: The meditation
and prayer were given by Mrs.
Jim Busby. Devotion closed
with a hymn.
The roll call was, "A thought
for Remembrance Day". For
the study period, Mrs. Harvey
Wright and Mrs.Bruce Robert-
son gave a very interesting talk
on drugs and alcohol.
Included in the business was •
the decision to hold a tea and
bazaar on November 19th. The
meeting was closed with a pray-
er. Lunch followed.

People's Society met Sunday
evening at Chalmers Church.
The president, Miss.Linda Jam-
ieson presided. 'The meeting
was prepared by Charles Thomp-
son, Paul Elliott and Paul Laid-
law.
Paul.Elliott read the Scrip-
ture. Charles Thompson oper-
ated the projector for a film
with Paul Laidlaw giving the
commentary. Miss Judy Jamie-
son read the minutes and Paul
Laidlaw gave the treasurer's re-.
port.
. The roll call was answered
by 17. It was decided to have
a Christmas ..concert.
Mrs. E. Pollard
dies in hospital
There passed away on Mon-
day, November 3rd, in Wing -
ham and District Hospital, Mrs.
Edward Pollard of Brussels, in
her 90th year.
Born in Morris Township, the
former Margaret Ann Cahtelon
was the daughter of the late Mr.
and Mrs. Arthur Cantelon.
She is survived by her hus-
band; two daughters, Mrs. Ches-
ter (Reta) Rintoul of Galt, and
Mrs. Mervy,n (Frieda) Pipe of
Morris Township; six grandchil-
dren and seventeen great-grand-
children.
She was predeceased, by one
daughter, Mrs. Leslie (Esther)
13raddick of Vancouver last De-
cember, and two brothers, .
The funeral service was held
from the D. A. Rann funeral
(tome at 2 p. In. on Wednes-
day. Rev. E. Lenrew of l3n•is-
sels United Church officiated
with burial in Brussels Ceme -
tcry.

THE REMEMBRANCE SERVICE at the Wingham cenotaph
was attended by a better -than -average crowd on Tuesday.
Involved in the parade were the Wingham Branch Royal
Canadian Legion, Ladies' Auxiliary, 'the Boy Scouts, the
Wolf Cubs and the town council. The outdoor service
was more comfortable than most years due to the absence
of the traditional bitter cold and rain.

Belmore native
dies in Galt
BELMORE--On Monday, No-
vember 3rd, W. Carter McKee,
age 79, passed away in Galt.
Deceased was born and rais-
ed in Belmore, and received
his elementary education here.
He attended high school in
Wingham, graduated from the
Faculty of Education in Toren-.
to, and taught school at the
Galt Collegiatelor a number of
years. • -
He is survived by his wife,
the former Margaret Ballagh;
one son Robert bf Galt and one
daughter Mrs. James (Marion)
Pellow of Woodstock; also five
grandchildren and one sister.
Elizabeth, of Toronto. George
Lane. and Mr. Rowland Ballagh •
of Wingham are .brothers -in- •
law of the deceased and •John
Lane of this area is a nephew.
Funeral service was held on
Wednesday afternoon in Galt.

Mrs. Wood, formerly Evelyn
Turner, passed away_ October
22 in Columbia Hospital, New
Westminster, B. C. in her 98th,
year. Burial took place in .•
Nelson, B. C.
She is survived by two daugh-
ters, Mrs. Frank Sims and Miss
Evelyn Wood and seven grand-
children, also a sister, Miss
Mary_Turner, now residing in
Huronview. .
Mrs. Wood formerly taught
school in Wingham and, later,
for some years in a Doukhobor
school at Gibson Creek, B. C.

Mrs. Frank Wright
dies at Huronview
Mrs. Frank F. Wright, 85,
died November 5 at Huronview,
Clinton., Funeral service was
held Friday at the Moir funeral
home in Gorrie with Rev. Geo.
Sach officiating and burial was
in Wroxeter Cemetery.
The former Dorothy. Simp-
son,
imp-son, she was the daughter of
the late Mr. and Mrs. Jaranes
Simpson. She was born in Grey
Township.
Mrs. Wright , was predeceas-
ed by her 'husband. She is sur-
vived by several nieces and
nephews.

son, Gordon Greig, Vernon
Hupfer and Allan Griffith.

dies. suddenly
Willie rr Edgar of Harriston
died suddenly on November 4 in
Peel Memorial Hospital, Cooks-
villa. He was 60 years of age.
Mr.. Edgar was a native of
Howick Township, born March
11, 1909. He was a son of the
late 'Robert Edgar and the' form-
er Elizabeth Doig.
He was a. carpenter and gen-
eral store merchant and was a
member of the United Church.
Mr. Edgar is survived by his
wife, the former Jean Cainpbel1
on ,son, Cameron. of Wrote-
teq; brothers, Cameron, Sandy
and Andy, all of Gorrie; and
two sisters, Mrs. William (Ag-
nes) Wright of Wroxeter and
Mrs. Charles (Margaret) Black
of Gorrie.
Rev. G. W. Sach and Rev.
W. Hird conducted service at
the Moir funeral home i_ n Gor-
rie Thursday afternoon, with
interment in Fordwich Ceme -
tery.
Pallbearers were Bill Wilson,
