Mrs. Douglas Martin was pianist.The worship service was conducted by Ripley members, The Scrip- ture and meditation were given by Mrs. George Sutherland. Love rather than faith, the strongest force in the life of a Christian, was contrasted, an- alized and defended in this chapter. Mrs. Kenneth McKay led in prayer. The visiting groups were welcomed by Mrs. James West. The roll call was taken ,by Mrs. Victor Emerson, Whitechurch. Mrs. Ewan MacLean, treasurer, presented the financial report with helpful comparisons. Mrs. K. Rooney, Ripley introduced the guest speaker, Mrs. William Fitzsimmons of Beaverton. Using an excellent set of colored slides, and with fluent descriptions of a distinct- ly Irish flavour, Mrs. Fitzsim- mons led her audience through the oldest and most historical area of the world, the Holy Land, creating a deep sense of the reality of Bible people and their environment, and the meaning and purpose of life. Ral- ly Workshop held in Paisley, September 2 5th was given by Mrs. C. McAuley and Mrs, K. Rooney, Ripley. Mrs. Dr. J. E. Little, Lucknow, expressed ap- preciation to all who had parti- cipated in the program. A poem, composed by. A social time was enjoyed when the Ashfield members served refreshments. Mrs. B. Thomas, 2nd vice- president, Bluevale, presided at the meeting in Gorrie Pres- byterian Church on .October 30. The theme was "Faith, and Open Door", The invocation was "Behold, I set before you an open door and no man can shut it". Members of the Molesworth group had charge of the devo- tions. Scripture was read by Mrs, Colin Macintosh. The meditation was by Mrs. John Brush and the devotional prayer was given by Mrs. T. J. Mc- Kinney, Teeswater. .'Mrs. W. D. Campbell, recording secre- tary, called the roll. Words of welcome were ex- tended by Mrs. John Brush.The treasurer's report was submitted by Mrs: G. Mundell of Belrnore, president. A report of the Work- shop Rally at Paisley was given jointly by Mrs. C. McAuley and Mrs, K. Rooney. Mrs. Jim Mair, Brussels gave the offer- tory prayer. A duet by Mrs. J. Day and Mrs. Betty Feagan, accompan- ied by Mrs. William Ford, all of Wingham, was enjoyed.
