Mrs. Ken Mason read a let-
ter from Mrs, Doig asking the
group to be prepared to answer
the roll call with an idea shar-
ed and to give the courtesy re-
marks at the Rally. Another
letter concerning the quarterly
allocation was read.
The arranging for a congre-
gational social was left to the
executive.'
Mrs. Gordon McBurney had
charge of the study , . "Reconcili-
ation in a Broken World". She
explained the meaning and the
need for reconciliation and how
people are involved. She also
told of some frustration and
straining points in the Indian -
Eskimo situation.
Mrs. Richard Moore gave a
reading, "Reaching for the Top",
. and Mrs. Roy Pattison gave a
reading, "The. Indians".
Mrs. John Jamieson had
charge of the worship service,
the topic being "Racism To-
wards a Full Community", fol-
lowed by prayer. The offering
was received and dedicated by
vmrs.. Jamieson-. -
The meeting closed with '
prayet, by Mrs. Jamieson. The
birthday tea was then enjoyed
by an attendance of 14.

Sleightholm attended the eighth
meeting of the 4-H club on
Saturday morning. _
Joyce Tiffin presided and
Brenda King read the minutes.
A work meeting will be held
November 1 in the hall. Meet-
ing.starts at 9:30 a. m.
A review test washeld and
the members decided on the
covers for the record books. Dis-
cussion centred around the ex-
hibit for Achievement Day. The
-girls worked on the embroidery
of the free choice articles.

fashion show were Dorothy Marks in a
white Trevira A-line dress with gold trim
around the neck and narrow cuffs. White
nylon pleating on the V-neck and wrists
of Eileen Templeman's black crepe Fortrel

Wife of former
minister buried
BLUEVALE--Mrs. Bessie
Tavener, wife of the late Rev.
Campbell Tavener, died at her
home in . Exeter on October 17th,
in her 90th year.
She was born in England and
lived in Bluevale from 1939 to
1943 when her husband was the
minister of Blhevale U nit ed
Church. No immediate rela-
tives survive in Canada.

in ' e Jones funeral home in
Thomdale, with interment in
Vining's Cemetery on October
Mrs. Tavener will be re-
membered as efficient in sup-
porting every , good cause and as
a friend to all.
