DONNYBROOK—The Sep-
tember meeting of the United
Church Women was held at the
home of Mrs.' Hilliard Jeffer-
son last Wednesday evening.
The opening hymn was "Let Us
with -a Gladsome Mind ".
Mrs. Edward Robinson took
charge of the meeting. The •
theme was,. Hq „giveth to every-
one according to his abilities".
Mrs. Robinson read Scripture,
gave the meditation and led in
prayer. -
Mrs. John Hildebrand tbok
over for the business. She read
"Blowing in the Wind" and the
members thought about the
words. Mrs. Stuart Chamney
read the minutes and gave the
roll call.
Pyjamas and knitting for the
Children's` Aid Society are to
be turned in promptly. A bale
has been sent for overseas re-
lief and it was agreed td send
$7. 00 for shipping charges.
Mrs. John Hildebrand, Mrs.
Stuart Chamney and Mrs. Hilli-
ard Jefferson were nominated to
bring in a slate of officers for
1970. Mrs. Hildebrand, Mrs.
Morley Johnston and Mrs, Mut-

Albers Bacon returned home
last week after a two weeks'
trip by train to British Colum-
bia. While there they visited
their daughter and son-in-law,
Mr. and, Mrs. Maurice Ste.
Marie and family at Terrace,
B. C. Terrace has a popula-
tion of 12 ,800 which has built
up in the past 20 years. They
visited the Alcan Aluminum
plant at Kitimat and saw where
130 new houses` were put up this
past summer, andvisited Prince
Rupert and Vancouver.
On Sunday, September 14th,
the Rev. J. W. Watts,. minister
of St. Matthew's Anglican
Church, Terrace, B. C.., bap-
tized Lori Anne, infant -daugh-
ter of . Mr. and Mrs. Maurice
Ste. Marie. Mrs. Ste. Marie
is the former Jean Bacon.

Holland,, arrived in Canada by
plane two weeks ago to spend
five weeks with her sister, Mrs,
John Schipper and Mr. Schipper
of Minnie Street. Mrs. Schip-
per had not seen her sister for
17 years: Mrs. Borrink finds
the different language quite a
problern but thinks this is a
beautiful country.

clean- up girls.
The, girls worked for their
second stripe which was the
Lord's Prayer, sample of em -
broidery and knitting a poster
of the six aims; also for the Red
Cross badge which is the treat-
ment for a cut finger and how
to extinguish clothes that have
caught fire.
