CAPT. R. G. WAREHAM of the 99th Fd. Bty., Wingham,
was presented with the Col.. R. J. Hetherington Trophy at
Ipperwash on Sunday by Lt. Col. R. P. Ritter. The trophy
is presented annually to the Battery that has the largest
number of men at Ipperwash for the shoot, combined with
the largest aggregate score. This is the second year in a

history and tragic conditions.
He was accompanied by h i s
bride who is a graduate nurse
of Kitchener -Waterloo lfospi-
tal and came originally from
South America. The meeting
was open for questions, ably
answered by Mr. Umeh..Biafra
is in great need of help. Mr.
and Mrs. Urneh were presented
with gifts.
Roll call, "My beef, " . was
answered by 17 members and
ten visitors, Mrs. Alex Gra.
ham, president, took over the
business Arrangements were
made for ,members to attend
the Area Convention in Guelph
on October 8 and 9 and the
County Rally at Dungannon on
October 6. Mrs. Jack Bennett
and Mrs. Glad Edgar were ap-
pointed to attend the short
course, "Main Dish Makes a
Meal" in Seaforth ou October
21 and 22.
The Institute will enter and
exhibit at the Gorrie Fall Fair,
"A Display of Christmas Din -
ner". A bus trip is planned to
Hespeler and Kitchener but the
date is not yet set.
The Dutch auction was won
by Mrs. John Strong and Mrs.
Umeh. Lunch was served by
the hostesses, Mrs. Alex Gra-
ham and Mrs. Raymond. Gowdy.
Mrs. Jennie Mosure
to cut cake for
her 9lth birthday
FORD WICH- -Mrs. Jennie
Mosure celebrated. her 97th
birthday on Monday.Mrs.
Mosure has been confined to
the Fordwich Nursing Home for
three yeas.
Although her eyesight and
hearing are failing her memory
is still excellent. She 'h a s
been a member of the Ladies'
Orange Lodge for over 50 years
and plans to attend Lodge on
Wednesday, , September 24th,
where she will cut •a birthday
cake.
She also visited on Sunday
with her niece, Mrs. Arnold
McDougall, in Palmerston.

BELMORE ,CLUB
BELMORE--The first meeting
of Belmore 4-H needlecraft
course was held at the twine of
Mrs. Douglas McPherson. 'Ten
girls were present. The elec-
tion of officers took place as
follows; President, Marlene
Inglis; Nice -president, Gail
McPherson; press reporter, Kas-
en Dickson.. Leaders are Mrs.
McPherson and Mrs. John Dick
son.
Mrs. McPherson spoke to the
girls about embroidery, with
Mit.. Dickson telling thein ghat
was' needed in their embroidery'
boxes. They. then practised
matching material: .and embrod-•
ery thread.
The second meeting was held
at the home of Mrs. John Dick-
son. The girls named the'club •
"The Belmore Nifty. Needlers".
Ten merribers answered the roll
call. The girls then learned
how to do the blanket stitch.
Lunch was served at the close
of the meeting, with word that
the next meeting will be held
at the arena.
