BELGRAVE--The August
meeting of the evening unit of
the U. C. W. was held in the
basement'of the church. Mrs.
Lloyd Freethy opened the wor-
ship service with the theme,
"The Whole World, God's World
and Ours". Mrs. Laura John-
ston read the call to worship
followed by prayer. The med-
itation, "And God Said", was
read by Mrs. Freethy, followed
by Scripture and prayer by Mrs.
Johnston.
Mrs. James Coultes conduct-
ed the business. Minutes were
read and roll call was answered
by ten members. The penny
collection was received and.
seven hospital and four home
visits were recorded. Mrs.
Taylor asked everyone to help
with catering for the Brislin-
Taylor wedding. Pyjamas and
quilt patches were„given out to
be made for the Children's Aid,
Society.
The September meeting will
be at the home of Mrs. James
Coultes with Mrs. Norman
Cook in charge of worship. Miss
Annie Cook, program, a n d
Mrs. Lloyd Freethy, lunch.
A skit, "St. Peter --Look at
Me”, • was presented by Mrs.
Kenneth Wheeler, Mrs. Jack
Higgins, Mrs. Murray Scott,
Mrs. Lorne Jamieson and Mrs.
Gordon Pengelley.
' The singing of, " Take Time
To Be Holy" and the benedic-
tion by Mrs. James Coultes
closed the meeting. Lunch was
served by Miss Annie Cook's
group.

BELGRAVE--The general Zurich. It was decided to send
meeting of the U. C. W. was

Reeve Roy Pattison presided

will receive the $600. 00 fee.

BELGRAVE--The afternoon
unit of UCW was held on Aug-
ust 1:; with an attendance of 15,
and Mrs. Robert Coultes in
charge. After the call to wor-
ship, the hymn "Thy Ceaseless
1'nexhaustcd Love" was sung.
Firs. Robert Coultes-- ad the
meditation, followed by prayer
and a hymn. Miinutes were
read, offering received and the
treasurer's report was given.

on August 3rd. The service
was conducted by'George Johri-
ston , assisted by Mary Anne
Wheeler.
A stimulating and interest-.
ing panel discussion., was chair-
ed by Glenn \`rcbster of Auburn.
The topics were "Drugs and
Their Effects", " Rural Churches
and Modern Advertising". The
panel included George Johnston,
Brenda Johnston, Jim Beecroft,
Ronald Taylor, Mary Anne
Wheeler and Cash Marz of To-
ronto, who told of his personal
experience in taking drugs and
their effects on him.
Many thought-provoking quer,
tions were introduced and a
lively discrtssion followed.
The choir sang two anthems
"0 Jesus, I Have Promised"
and " The Lord Is My Shepherd';
which were beautifully render-
ed. Mrs. George Johnston pre-
sided a t the organ.
