The consensus of opinion ap-
pears to have the Regiment
much improved by approxi-
mately 100% on the Bty•Royal
Cdn. Artillery Association Com-
petition over last year. The
competition consisted of two
troop shoots and one Bty Shoot.
This is all done under operation-
al conditions and the moves
are tactical. This includes the
use of camouflage nets and dig-
ging in. Very few of our gun-
ners have had any experience
with this sort of thing, primar-
ily because they are not issued
to Militia, units of the Regional
Reserve.
The first troop target went
a mite slow. The second was
inue!'rbetrer' and' The' B'ty'sharbrr, r�
was par excellent. Major J. R.
.S. Brown of 100 Bty Listowel
and all ranks can be just 1 y
proud of their effort.
The unit arrived.'at CFB
Petawawa at. 5.30 a. m. They
departed from home stations
between 7 and 8 theuevening
before and went straight to
breakfast, drew bedding, then
to bed until 8.30 a. m. In the
/morning they drew their equip-
ment and were assigned to
various jobs within the two
troops.
The actual deployment; went
well; .the Command posts were
a bit shaky for a short while,
which is understandable. They
don't get too. much chance at
their home stations to practise
as a team. Furthermore, it is
the Old Gunner's experience
that the Command Post Staff is
shaky on the first shoot of the
day.

The Wingham Lawn Bowl-
ing Club held a mixed doubles
tournament at the local greens
Sunday afternoon with 16 rinks
from Walkerton, Goderich,
Ailsa Craig and Wingham par-
ticipating.

worth from Ailsa Craig and Mrs.
W. Murray; second, Mr. and
Mrs. Harvey Scrimgeour of

of last week the pupils of grades
one to four of East Wawanosh
Public School held thein play
day, which consisted of games
and relays. Some of these
events included the bean bag
• throw, sack race, basket relay,
two dogs and a bone, and the
arch ball relay.
There were twelve teams al-
together, each of which tried to
collect as many points as possi-
ble, The grade 8 students as-
sisted the teachars in charge of
the events . Refreshments were
served and everyone thoroughly
enjoyed /the play day.
