Artillery Association Com- petition over last year. The competition consisted of two troop shoots and one Bty Shoot. This is all done under operation- al conditions and the moves are tactical. This includes the use of camouflage nets and dig- ging in. Very few of our gun- ners have had any experience with this sort of thing, primar- ily because they are not issued to Militia, units of the Regional Reserve. The first troop target went a mite slow. The second was inue!'rbetrer' and' The' B'ty'sharbrr, r� was par excellent. Major J. R. .S. Brown of 100 Bty Listowel and all ranks can be just 1 y proud of their effort. The unit arrived.'at CFB Petawawa at. 5.30 a. m. They departed from home stations between 7 and 8 theuevening before and went straight to breakfast, drew bedding, then to bed until 8.30 a. m. In the /morning they drew their equip- ment and were assigned to various jobs within the two troops. The actual deployment; went well; .the Command posts were a bit shaky for a short while, which is understandable. They don't get too. much chance at their home stations to practise as a team. Furthermore, it is the Old Gunner's experience that the Command Post Staff is shaky on the first shoot of the day. Some of these events included the bean bag • throw, sack race, basket relay, two dogs and a bone, and the arch ball relay. There were twelve teams al- together, each of which tried to collect as many points as possi- ble, The grade 8 students as- sisted the teachars in charge of the events .
