by those in charge. Mr. and
Mrs. Jeffray will soon be re-
turning to their home at Airdrie,
Alberta.
On Friday evening, friends
and neighbors gathered for a
farewell party for -Mr. and Mrs.
Rowland Ballagh and family
prior to their departure from
the area. Card playing was
enjoyed and the .Moran Orches-
tra played for dancing. Jack
Moran read an address an d
they were presented with aabuf-
fet bookcase and an envelope
of money. Lunch was served
by those in charge. The Bal-
lagh family will soon leave the
area to reside in Wingham. •

United Church Messengers and
Explorers enjoyed a Saturday
afternoon picnic at the Bel -
more Park. , They played ball
and other games, and enjoyed
lunch served by their leaders,
Mrs. Murray Mulvey, Mrs. Ev-
erett Dustow, Mrs. EvelynJack-
son and Mrs, Wilfred Johann.
Mr. and Mrs. Selah Brecken-
bridge attended the wedding of
a friend in Toronto on Saturday.

union held in the Belmore Park
on Sunday afternoon. .The
young people played ball and
competed. in races, while the
older family members visited.
Prizes were given for the young-
est and oldest in attendance,

United Church Women held
their June meeting last week at
tile home of Mrs. Wilfred Jo-
hann. Mabel Dunldn was the
leader and opened the meeting
with a hymn and reading of a
Tennyson poem. lvirs. Murray
Mulvey was in charge of the
study book and she began hy
asking the question, " What is
conscience?" Comparisons
were made of Scripture pass-
ages from Mark, chapter 2, and
Corinthians, chapter 8, with
an interesting discussion follow-
ing. Roll call was an inspira-
tional Bible passage.
Mabel Dunkirrwad a portion
of Ruth Montgomery's book "A
Search for the Truth", with
discussion dollowing on psychic
powers and foretelling of the
future. Mrs. William Boyd con-
ducted study on China, telling
about man and his work, educa-
tion, rural commune and city
workers, and the standard of liv-
ing in China.
Mrs. William Mulvey pre-
sided for the business. She read
letters of thanks from members
of the Abraham family, and
gave a report of a meeting at-
tended in Walkerton on June
4'10th. On motion by Mrs. Sang-
ster, seconded by Mrs. Murray
Mulvey, the group will send a
donation to the Blanket Fund.
The president thanked members
for the articles a clothing for
the bale, informing them that
three boxes had been taken to
Cape Croaker.
Mrs. Doubledee gave a
treasurer's report. Mrs. Earl
Fitch was appointed interim
secretary for the completion, of
the term begun by Lavonne Bat-
lagh, who is leaving this com-
munity. The next meeting will
be in the form of a tour of the
Midwestern Regional Children's
Centre at Palmerston on July
30th at 2 p.m. At the close of
the meeting, Mrs. Johann servl-
ed lunch.

in Belhiore
BELMORE--Services were
held as usual in Knox Presby-
terian Church on Sunday, with
Rev. E. R. Hawkes in charge.
The senior choir sang an anth-
em, with Doris Stokes playing
the organ.

rick Camp, near Mildmay.•
Meetings were also held through,
out last week at the Camp, and

Sundays. in July at 8 p.m. and

Bluevale Personals
During the months of July
and August only one church
, service will be held each Sun-
day in Riuevale. On July 6th
and other 'Sundays ofJuly it will
be held in Knox Presbyterian
