at his honne. June 17. Death
came suddenly. He was in his
55th year.
Born in Croyden, Surrey,
England, only son of the late
Walter Lockwood and Louise
Teesdale, he was a farmer and
later an oil burner technician.
In Apr111942 he married
Winifred Davies of London at
Horsham, England, He served
from 1940 to 1946 as a cook
and private during World War
II.

The sympathy of the com-
munity is extended to the mem-
bers of the Finlay family and
members of the Boyd family,
on the death of Mrs. Ada Fin-
lay last week in Wingham and
District Hospital. Funeralserv-
ice was held in Gorrie on Wed-
nesday afternoon.
We are sorry that Mr: Ed
Horton has been hospitalized
in Wingham and hope by the
time you read this that he, is
home and feeling much better.

ins read the Scripture lesson and
• Mrs. Robert Harkness gave the
meditation,, "Faith in Christ
shall dwell in our Hearts". De-
votions closed 'with prayer.
For the feature,Barbara,Hark-
ness played a selection of hymns
on her accordion. Roll call
was "Childhood memories of
my church".
Mrs. Robert Wood •and Mrs.
Jack Inglis. presented the study ,
book on China.
Mrs.. Walter Renwick intro-
duced the guest speaker, Mrs.
Gordon Wilson. She spoke on
the course she attended at the
•University. of Waterloo on the '
theme, "Reconciliation in a
Broken World". ,
Following. the business, the
meeting closed with prayer and
lunch was served by the com-
mittee in charge.

Funeral service was held at
the Gamble funeral h o in e
chapel. Shelburne, on June 18th
for Melissa May Rosewell, wi-
dow of Robert S mith, in her 77th
year.
The service was conducted
by the Rev. Warren G. Dickson
of Shelburne United Church
with burial in Shelburne cem-
etery.
Pallbearers were grandsons, •
Gary Thompson, Douglas Smith,
Joe Velacich, Dwight Smith,
Edward Calver and Murray Fish-
er. Flower bearers were' grand-
daughters.

Hart reunion
at Seaforth
WROXETER- -The annual
Hart reunion was held in Sea-,
forth'bions Park on Sunday with
a fair crowd attending. Games
were played in the afternoon
with races for the children.
Prizes were given to the eldest
person present and the youngest,
along with those for the games,.
races, etc.
A picnic supper was enjoyed
by all, outdoors, due to the co-
operation of the weatherman
but a brief shower occurred,
shortly after supper.
Those present were from Ot-
tawa, Kingsville, .Stratford,
Goderich, St. Thomas, London,
Wroxeter, Brussels, Dorchester.
Slate of officers for 1970 is
as follows: President, Mrs.
Gordon Hubbard, London; vice-
president, Lyle Hart, Wroxeter;

Spading, Wroxeter; sports, Mr.
and Mrs. Ernie Kneeshaw, Lon-
don. The 1970 reunion will be
held in the same place the sec-
ond last Sunday in. June, with a
smorgasbord supper.

WROXETER—Mrs. Ken Ben-
nett and Mrs. George Gibson
were in charge of the June meet-
ing of the Wroxeter Willing
Workers. Hymns sung were
"Fight the Good Fight", a n d
"Stand Up, Stand. Up for Jesus".
The theme of the meeting was
'Courage" and ten members an-
swered the roll call with a verse
containing the word "courage".
Mrs. Bennett read two !menu,
Scripture was taken from the
Book of Proverbs for the story of
a courageous woman. Prayer
was led by Mrs. Bennett.
Mrs. Rae Louttit and Mrs.
John Snell will have the Sep–
tember meeting. There will
be• no meetings during July and
August.
The rest of the afternoon was
spent in quilting and lunch was
served.
