Fred Hyndman attended the 50th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Halliday of Wingham on Saturday. Mr. Lloyd Mannell and Mr. Eldon Mannan of Dorchester visited Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Coulter on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Brenner, Eliza- beth and Ann of Kitchener spent the week -end at thesame home. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hynd- man, Mr. James Hyndman, Mr. and Mrs. Allan Hyndman, Clark and Karen, Mr. and Mrs. F. Hyndman, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Bennett, Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Bennett and Brenda were guests at the Bennett -Henry wedding in the Salvation Army Citadel, Wingham, on Saturday. Mrs. Robert Gilmar, Faucett, Alta. , visited Mr. Ed Gilmar and his sisters, Mrs. Lulu San- derson and Mrs. W. Brown. They plan to visit friends and relatives at Sarnia. Mrs.. M. Hoey of Fort Lauderdale, also a sister, has moved recently to Gorrie. Congratulations to Mr. Mel- vin Finlay who was 80 on Satur- day and was honored at a birth- day party at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ross Sanderson. Wrox- eter. He was presented with lawn chairs. Mr. and Mrs. John Boyd and Mrs. Richard Bennett visited Mrs. Stewart Finlay in Wing - ham and District Hospital on Sunday. Sharon Pollock shower hostess FORDWICH--Miss Sharon. Pollock entertained for a linen shower on Saturday night in honor of Miss Pat Harris, who will be married in August. The evening was spentplay- ing games and several contests were enjoyed. Tom McClement and Mr. and Mrs. Tom Hutcheson. They ,attend- ed the birthday party for Mrs. Ida Gallagher in the Gowans - town Hall. Miss Janette Jacques of Sum- merland, B. C. , visited for a few days last geek with Mr. and Mrs. Tom McClement and with her grandmother, Mrs. Ida Gal- lagher. Her mother, Mrs. Vel- ma Jacques is attending a two weeks' dieticians' course at,'the University of Guelph. Week -end visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Norman Wilson were Mr. and Mrs. William McCar- gar and Diane of Toronto. AREA CHURCH WOMEN VISIT THE UNI- VERSITY OF GUELPH—Members of the Guild of Si. Stephen's Anglican Church, Gorrie, toured the campusof the Univer- sity of Guelph last week. Accompanied by Rev. Harold Jenkins .and Rev. H. Jennings, they enjoyed a guided tour of two of the newest and most modern buildings on -campus, the McLaughlin Library and the Arts Building. The university' is unique in Ontario, operating on three semester system. Today the university comprises of four colleges, Ontario Agriculture College, Ontario •Veterinary College, Macdonald Institute of Family and Consumer Studies and Wellington College of Arts and Science.. There will be no service at Chalmers Presbyterian Church Sunday as Langside will observe its 101st Anniversary on June 2, when Rev. Anne Wightman of Belgrave will be guest speaker. Mrs. Jim Richardson has re- turned from San Salvador for the summer months. nn. Mr. George Kennedy of Wes Wawanosh was a patient in Vic- toria Hospital, London, for a few days last week when he had his eye removed. He was -injur- ed many years ago when he was struck in the dye by a backlash from a limb of .a tree while working in the bush. Mrs. H. Broome of Huron - view recently visited with her daughter, Mrs. Cliff Young. Mt Young and family. of Langside. Mrs, Amos Martin held a demonstration at her home on Saturday afternoon. there were 15 ladies .in attendance.
