close games in the first week
and a half of the schedule, two
wide-open games took place •
last Thursday evening.
In the 7 o'clock game, Stan-

game at 9:00, Machan's Hardy
ware ran over top of the Foundry
26 to 0. The Foundry was miss-
ing a number of key players.
The above scores do ,not indi-

•
An evening of hilarious fun .
is in store for local fans when'
the -town Fathers take on the
Kinsmen at the ball park on
Friday the 13th (guess these
brave crews aren't superstitious).
Playing the piano with mit-
tens. on or eating corn on the
cob through a 'picket fence it
easy compared to playing ball, •
• from the back of a stubborn
jackass. •
Councilor "Ace" Bateson •

ity of Mickey • Mantel, the-)'
horsemanship of a rodeo per-
fOrmer, the vocabulary of a
Missouri. mule skinner and the
sense of humour of Bob Hope.
Well "Ace", time will tell! •
Eleven real live donkeys,
especially trained to do exactly
the wrong thing at the right
„ time, will invade die local
Aiamond and may r9IttNlows
like Councillor Wee W ill i e
,f•ylalden retract such statements
'as, "Heck, anyone can ride a
Stubborn donk, eh?"
• We understand the Kinsmen
are really out to win this one.
After all, they just have to re-
• deem themselves after all the
iosses they took on the chin dur-
Ang the Winter Carnival. One
