Two Scouts from each patrol

of the basics of camping. Mean -
Willie Brian, Robert and Mt.
Pollock and Scouter Ken' Foxton
did some cleaning in the house.
On April 29th the Panthers
went out to London Bridge.
While we were out there we ex-
plored, had something to eat
and had a tracking game.

On May 17-19 there is a Dis=
trict Camporee at Camp Mar-
tyr'. There are four patrols go-
ing so these Scouts will be very
busy getting equipment togeth-
er and buying food in the next
couple of weeks. Even though
we are not very experienced we
are going up and "Do Our Best",
meet other Scouts, make friends
and learn by watching and try-
ing.

Twenty-two years ag,Q, a
boy was born in Puerto Rim
He wi3S born without s ight
which could have been an in-
surmountable problem. But he"
had no time or the inclination
to feel sorry for himself; for the
talent, Ability, determination
and courage that he was born
with, far outshone anything he
lacked. He developed his tal-.
ents, and at the age of nine
years, he made his debut as a
professional singer and guitarist,
In 1969, that boy, Jose Felici-
ano, is about the biggest new
star in•North America, soon the
world.
Since the new year, his re-
cord albums have sold like they
were going out of style, single
recordings have received a lot
of attention, he won,h i g h
awards on the recording indus-
try's
ndus;try's "Grammy" award show,
sang the Oscar -winning song on
the Academy Award show in
Hollywood, and starred on his
own television special with
greats .like. Andy Williams and
Glen Campbell.
It was this show that we saw
last Saturday evening on the
CBC network. It not only show-
ed his talent as a singer and fine
guitarist, but he also performed
hosting duties most adequately,
and brought some laughs with
goodimpersonations of Lou is
Armstrong, Walter Brennan, and
Tiny Tim. With Campbell, he
performed some memorable
guitar artistry; and of course,
the show would not have been
complete without his Grammy -
winning number "Light My
Fire".
Another highlight was the ap-
pearance of Burt Bacharach who
has written a large percentage
of today's hit\songs; and this was
the first television appearance
of Bapharach with singer Dionne
Warwick, whose hits have main-
ly been composed by the talent-
ed fellow. In case you forgot,
Burt is real-life hubby of Angie
Dickinson, the gorgeous g a 1
who graces most Oscar Nights
in Hollywood, and a talented
actress.
The Feliciano special was
written by Lee Hazelwood, who
is .familiar as the guy who made
a star of Nancy Sinatra and is
now trying to transform Ann-
Margaret
nn-Margaret into something more
'than a pretty face.

Sinatra and Feliciano can do
their thing, so why not Knotts •
and Durante? So they did --on
last week's "Show of the Week"
(Monday) on the CBC. Knotts,
a good actor and fine stand-up
comedian, doesn't quite come
across co -hosting .a show with a
guy like Durante. Durante is
the type who is apt to do or say
anything, mainly because he
can barely see past his nose
without glasses, and reading a
cue -card isn't easy for him!
Knotts, on the other hand, is
