Mrs. Warren Zurbrigg was
the guest speaker. She illus-
trated her talk on "Planting"
with demonstrations on taking
cuttings and slips. Her talk
was both informative and inter-
esting. Mrs. Jacques displayed
products which she distributes.
Mrs. Robert Allan conducted an
interesting contest. Lunch was
served by Mrs. E. D avid and
Mrs. K. Crowe.

A MOTHER'S DAY CONTEST STORE
PTE. ADRIANUS G. DeBRUYN of R. R. 5, Lucknow, has
graduated from Canadian Forces Recruit School, CFB Corn-
wallis, N.S. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman De-
Bruyn, R. R. 5 Lucknow, and has been posted to Clinton,
for trades training. He joined the Canadian Armed Forces
as a Basic Electronics Man on January 28, and has spent
the last nine weeks at. CFB Cornwallis, the basic training
centre for all English-speaking recruits.
At the end of his basic training course Pte. DeBruyn
was the winner out of 137 men of the Commandant's
Shield, awarded to the best recruit. Pte. DeBruyn was
president of the Wingham. CYO. He was a member of
the 21st Field Regiment for 31/2 years and of the 543
Wingham District High' School Cadet Corps for four years.
