Auxiliary meeting was held at Mr. and Mrs. ClarkJohnston'3 Saturday evening. Games were led by Brenda Nethery. Roll call was answered and minutes of the last meeting were read by Marni Walsh. Pat Scott gave the treasurer's re- port. Brenda Nethery and Mar- ni Walsh collected the offering and Reta Lynn White recited the offertory prayer. Next meeting will be held at Mr. and Mrs. Johnston's on May 10. Games for the next meeting.will be led by Marni Walsh, sing -song by April Mc- Burney. Clean-up girls are Laurie Stackhouse and Brenda Nethery. Janette Johnston and Mary Isabel Nethery continued with the studybook "The Golden Coin". The Conference was welconled to Toronto by Mayor Dennison at a civic luncheon, G.A. Gib - bard, Toronto, O. A. M. R. pies- ident, conducted the meetings assisted by Mrs. W. B. Hall of Toronto, conference chairman. The theme was "Let's Keep on Moving". The keynote adwas on by Dr. D.E. Speijer, Professor of Social- Psychiatry, Leyden Uni- versity, The Netherlands, an international figure who has written over 100 papers on the mentally retarded, addressed the assembly on the adult re- tarded and the need of work- shops for them and work outside of workshops suitable for them. He stated that planned recrea- tion is often neglected. He said there should be more infor- mation concerning their needs given to all groups of people, starting with parents, so that all may work together so that the mentally retarded will no longer be rejected.. neglected or denied.
