Friendship Club met on Tues-
day evening of last week at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. J a c k
Ferguson in Gorrie. Rev.$quires,
recently arrived in Canada from
England, was guest speaker,
with Rev. and Mrs. Geroge Sach
of Gorrie also present. During
the evening the club presented
Mr. and Mrs. Ferguson with a
small gift, in appreciation for
their work with the club before
moving to •Gorrie last fall. '
Lunch was served. -
A few from this area attend-
ed the Walkerton Ministerial
Association banquet in Mildmay
on Wednesday.evening of last
week. Dr. Robert McLure,
moderator of the United Church
of Canada., was the guestspeak-
er. - •

spring .'humps and. bumps'. A
small -type Red Sea on the 10th
of Turnberry is 'slowly dryingup,
and 'rota bit too soon. We've
almost lost some of our best
citizens in that nice little pud-
dle.

held the last Saturday afternoon
of each month, so if you have
children 6-12 years of age. ,

Mr. and Mrs. John Rutherford
and family were Sunday dinner

Douglas, near Clifford.

day with Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred
Johann and family.

Spring must have sprung ! Fish-
ermen were out bright and
early on week -end mornings,
lining our streams and rivers.
Some of our community's young
• folk went smelt fishing on Sat-
urday night. We never did
learn what they caught, if
anything!

prayer and the Scripture read-
ing, taken from Matthew, was

After the offering was receiv-
ed the girls' choir sang two num.
bers, "Holy, Holy, Holy" as it
is sung in Biafra and "Christ Is
the Lord".
Mrs. IL Banff/A introduced
thespecialguest for the even-
ing, Mrs. Bell of Walkertonw.ho
showed pictures and told of her
trip to the Holy Land, Mrs.
Conlan thanked her.
The meeting closed with the ,
hymn "The Dayof Resurrection':
The ladies enjoyed looking at
the: articles Mrs. Bell had
brought with her from the Holy
Land and a time Of fellowship
followed.
A number of members from
Belmore's U. C. W. group at-
tended the Spring Thankoffer-
ing of the Teeswater U. C. W.
on Sunday evening. Rev. Nor-
, ma Secord of Cape Croker was
the guest speaker, •and told of
her work there.

BELGRAVE--The Messengers
opened their meeting with Brei -
da Johnston reading a story "Our
People of China". Mrs. Tom
Cameron discussed China with
the children and then they work-
ed on their booklets with Mrs.
James Lamont assisting.
Alison Roberts was named
treasurer. -Recreation was in
the .form of a Chinese game
called ."The Cliicken's Home",
followed by a sing -song which
brought the meeting to a close.
The next meeting will be
Monday. May 5th at 4 p. m. at
Mrs. Tom Cameron's home. •
All children between 4 and 9
years of age are welcome to at-
tend.

who is a patient in St. Joseph's
Hospital, London.

Mrs. Gordon McBurney and,

cock arrived home on Monday
evening after a three' weeks '
visit to. Germany and Britain.
They visited with Mr. and Mrs.
Larry Bodell (Anne Peacock)
and baby. Michael at Zwei-
brucken , Germany for two
weeks then took a tour called,
"A quick look at Britain".
Mr. and Mrs. George Po-
cock of Lambeth visited with
her sister, Mrs. J. M. Coultes
last week and visited with other
relatives.

and Mrs. Frank Miller of Luck -

Emerson were Wednesday even-
ing visitors with Mrs. Ezra
Scholtz.
