Percy, Harris dies
Percy Harris, 76. 0 f 31
Charles Street, a charter mem-
ber of Branch. 180, Royal Canad-
ian, Legion, died in hospital
here on 'Wednesday. April 23.
Illness was short.
He was born in England, son
of the late Richard Harris and
Elizabeth . Marshall Harris. He
came to Canada in 1911, settling
in Ripley. . The following year
he moved to W ingham and had
resided here since that time.
Mr. Harris was a veteran of
World War I, serving in France,
Belgium and Germany from
October 1914 to May 1919.
On September 10, 1921, he
married Hilda Mary Utting of
Norwich, Norfolk, England.
The ceremony took place in
London, Ontario.
Mr. Harris was a buttermak-
er from 1922 until he retired in
1958. He was a member of St.
Paul's Anglican Church.
Surviving besides his •wife
are a son, William Harris of
Wingham and two daughters,
Mrs. Joseph (Ruth) King, R. R. 2,
Teeswater and Mrs. Donald
(Florence) Delmage of London.
There are ten grandchildren.
Mr. Harris also leaves three
brothers, George, Sidney and
Russell, all of Norwich, Eng-
land, and three sisters, Mrs.
William (May) Stewart of New
Brunswick, -Mrs. Eliza Read,
Norwich, Eng., and Mrs. Flor-
ence Clarke, Chelmsford, Eng.
Service at the R. A. Currie
and Son funeral home on Sat-
urday afternoon was conducted
by Rev. H. W. Hamilton and
Rev. C. F. Johnson. Burial
was in Wingham Cemetery,
Pallbearers were Harold Bell
Of Listowel, Cy Root of London
and Scott Reid, John Langridge,
Carl Casemore and De Witt .

dies from bums
FORDWICH-- Mr. and Mrs.
Elmer Williamson -and her sit-.
ter, Miss Jean Campbell, left
last Monday for Neepawa, Man-
itoba. Miss Campbellhad spent
the winter months at the Wil-
liatnson home and was return-
ing to her own home in Mani-
toba, accompanied by the Wil-
liamsons who intended to visit
for a couple of weeks.
Word was received here Sat-
urday that Miss Campbell had
received severe burns to her
entire,body while near a bon-
fire,
onfire, from which she died.
Mrs. Aitcheson Wallace, a
niece, left to attend the funer-
al on Monday in Manitoba.
