Council meeting
The regular April session of
West Wawanosh Township Coun-
cil was held at the home of the
clerk on Tuesday of last week,
with all members in attendance.
Two gravel tenders received
by the road surintendent were
opened and discussed at length.
Councillors Aitchison and Ruth-
erford moved that„council ac-
cept the tender cif R. H. Jenni-
son of Grand Bend, for crushing
and hauling gravel at 880 per
cu. yd. and stockpiling at. 600
per cu., yd. , subject to approv-
al by the Department of High-
ways.
A resolution received from
Tuckersmith Township -regard-
ing proposed Regional Govern-
ment was endorsed on motion
of Councillors Foran and Mc-
Donald.
The road and general :ac-
counts were ordered paid. .
Frank Thompson of Dungan-
non attended, the meeting and
was questioned by Council with

Plans are being made to
hold a reunion -of former and
present members in September
in honor of the 20th anniversary
of an organized Junior Farmers
for the township. Along with
the reunion a Variety Night will
be held.
Various county meetings were
also reported.
The next meeting will be ` t
8:30 on April `6th at the How-
ick Central School. A speaker
from the Ontario Hydro Com-
mission will present a film on
"Living and Farming Better
Electrically". A discussion will
follow. Everyone is invited,
whether a member of not.
The meeting concluded with
a basketball game.

W.ROXETER--The Women's
Institute heli the April meeting
in the community :hall. There
were l5 members and six visit-
ors present, Theme of the
meeting was Horne. Economics
and Health.
Mrs. Stanley Lockwood open-
ed the meeting with a poem.
The motto was read by Mrs.
Russell Lockwood, "Put you r
talent in the W.I. and watch it
grow ". Roll call was answered
by payment of fees and ex-
change of flower slips and three
plants were auctioned.
Mrs. Greig read, two interest-
ing poems. Satisfactory reports
were- given by the auditors, sec-
retary-treasurer,
ec-retary-treasurer, good cheer
convener :and the president's
summary was read. A donation
was made to the Howick Fall
Fair.
Mrs. Leslie Douglas introduc-
ed the guests, Mr. and Mrs.
Alan Campbell. Mr. Campbell
demonstrated various methods
of decorating cake for different
occasions. His wife, assisted
him and she gave the members
recipes for the icing. The menr
bers also practised on cakes to
try their skill. Mrs. William
Wright thanked the guests and
presented them with a gift.
