Wingham. will cele- brate their 50th wedding anni- versary of April 7th on April 5th, due to the holiday. Roy and Mrs. Walker and. family of Kitchener, Mr. and Mrs. Alien Walker and fam- ily of Owen Sound, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Walker and family .of Wingham, Mrd. Fred Bailey, Mr. and Mrs. Blake Sinclair and Miss Maggie Moore, all of Tara, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Barnes of Toronto, Mrs. Schwanth and Mrs. Noble W illiamsford and Miss Bertha Walker of Walker- ton. On Monday Mr. and Mrs. Wacker will hold open house. The community extends best wishes for many more years of health and happiness. Mack Brown and Gary of Kitchener spent the week -end at their farm here. Wilmer Taylor of Hamilton arrived on Monday to assist with the syrup making at the home of his brother, Lawrence and Mrs, Taylor. Mrs. Dawson Craig and Mrs. Gordon McBurney visited on Friday with Mrs. Bill Peacock of Bluevale, prior to her trip to Germany. Word was received on Mon- day by Mr. and Mrs. Carl Mc- Clenaghan of the arrival of a baby girl on Monday, March 31, in Kitchener -Waterloo Hos- pital, to Mr. and Mrs. Paul Geiger. The community offers congratulations. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Rintoul and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Cam- eron of Ashfield spent the week- end with Mr. and Mrs. Jack Rintoul of Toronto, After being off work for 31 months due to sickness we are happy to report Jack has again resumed his du- ties, Visitors on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Tom Jamieson were Mr. and Mrs. John Jamieson and Gary of East • Wawanosh. Congratulations from the community to Mr. and Mrs. Robert Laidlaw who yesterday, April 2nd, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. The fam- ily surprised their parents by having a wedding dinner at Danny's Restaurant on Sunday. Misses Jane, Joanne and Paul Laidlaw were Sunday visitors with their aunt , Mrs. Ezra Scholtz. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Put - don of Thomdale were week- end visitors with his mother, Mrs. Jack Purdon of Lucknow, and with his father, a patient in Wingham and District Hospital. Jack Purdon of Luckaoyr.r; formerly of this community, was admitted recently to Wing- ham in - ham and District Hospital with a heart attack. Ray- mond, the eldest ,boy, had the misfortune to be in collis1on with, a car while crossing the street. His hip was broken and he spent four week;" in hospital but is now convalescing at his home. Wawanosh and Mrs. Lester Falconer of Culross were Saturday visitors with Mr. and Mrs. EarlCaslick toextend best wishes on the 53rd wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Caslick. Mr, and Mrs. Amos' Martin were Suriday visitors with Mr. and, Mrs. Ira Huber and family of Culross. a RELIEF FOR BIAFRAN CIVILIANS A Canadian relief, organization, Canairelief, bought this four engine Super Constella- tion last December to fly food' into war- torn Biafra. Each flight, with 20 tons of food, can feed 200,000 people for one day. Canairelief Is a joint effort of Canadian • churches and Oxfam of Canada, and now is appealing to Canadian public to help keep the plane flying.
