tournament
Three cars of ladies went to
Ripley on Monday night, mem-
bers of the Auxiliary to Branch
180, Royal Canadian Legion.
They attended the Zone Cl
euchre tournament and managed
to walk off with most of the
prizes.
The euchre prizes went to
Mrs. Andy Scott and Mrs. Pete
Vath. Mrs. Ted English had
the high score for bridge with
Mrs. Hamilton of Lucknow win-
ning the consolation.
Five members of the Wing-
ham Auxiliary won prizes in
the penny auction, Mrs. Vath,
Miss Hattie Wylie, Mrs. Helen
Casemore, Mrs. Ernie Lewis
and Mrs. George Day. Mrs. Ed
Rich won the door prize.

Clure of Goderich spent the
week -end with Mr. and Mrs.
L. Beimes of Leopold Street.

ter spending some time at Day-

in Help Rosemary Walk campaign
A clipping has reached us
from the North Eissutc News con-
cerning Rosemary Hutton. an
attractive young woman who
lives at Belle River. Miss Hut-
ton is the -daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Kirk Hutton, former resi-
dents of Wingham. The article
is a letter to residents ofthe
Belle River area frons the local
Lions Club, which appears' be-
low.
Miss Hutton i> at present re-
cuperating from a fractured left
wrist and surgery performed four
weeks ago.

so she may walk.
We, the Belle River Lions
Club. are proud to initiate a fi-
nancial campaign to raise the
necessary funds to pay the costs
for the artificial limb and trans-
portation to the hospital for fit-
tings.
We plan to have a progress
thermometer installed in a lo-
cal store to show the weekly
progress of the campaign until
the goal is met. A door-to-
door blitz is also planned, in the
next few weeks.,

daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James
Leishman of Brussels, 'and Chris-
topher Bradley Kennedy, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Chris Kennedy
of Londesboro, exchanged wed-
ding vows in Knox United
Church; 'Belgrave Saturday af-
ternoon.
Rev. John Roberts officiated.
Mrs. Elaine Nixon was organist
and Miss Marjorie Procter sang
"Wedding Prayer" and "0 Per-
fect Loves". Eater lilies and
shasta mums decorated th e
church.

gown, a full-length dress of
wedding rose embroidered satin
peau, empire style with the lily -
point. sleeves. Her train of soft
net. fell from the shoulders and
an iridescent t i a r a held her
shoulder length veil. She car-
ried a white Bible crested with
yellow roses.
Mrs. Ann Bauer of Goderich
was her sister's matron of honor.
Her yellow floor -length gown
was the same material as the
bridal dress and featured an em-
pire, waist. She carried white
shasta mums.
• Wearing dresses indentical
in style to that of the matron ' of
honor but in green, Miss Bonnie
Townsend of Seaforth and Miss
Lois Leishman, sister of the
bride, were, bridesmaids. Kathy
Maloney of Seaforth, flower
• girl, wore a floor -length em-
pire gown of embroidered white
satin peau and carried a nose-•
gay of white shasta mums.
Wayne Kennedy of Londes-
boyo, brother of the groom, was
best man and the ushers were
brothers of the bride and groom,
James.Leishman and Mark Ken-
nedy.
The reception was held at
the church which was effective-
ly decorated in yellow and white.
The bride's mother received
wearing a light turquoise two-
piece suit, navy accessories and
corsage of pink• r o s. e s . The
groom's mother chose a navy
and white dress with white ac-
cessories and corsage of pink
roses. '

of Blyth, uncle of the bride.
Special guests were grandpar-
ents, Mr. Henry Leishman of
Huronview, Clinton, Mr. .an
Mrs. Frank Wilson of Goderich
and Mrs. Victor Kennedy of

ing in honor of Miss Blend a
Niergarth, bride-to-be. Upon
the arrival of Mss Niergarth,
her mother and Mrs. Dan Tif-
fin ushered her to a seat of tion -

was Miss Shirley Tiffin with
Miss Joan Tiffin, pianist. Sev-
eral contests were enjoyed .
Miss Diane Coultes gave a read-
ing and Miss Joan Tiffin gave
an accordion solo; after which
the gifts were opened.

GORRIE--The Gorrie United
Church Women held their an-
nual quilting bee in the Sunday
School rooms on Thursday
when nine quilts were complet-
ed.
Mrs. A. L. Stephens conduct-
ed a shoit business session. Plans
were made for a Family Night
in the church on April 2 5 when
Elmer Farrish will show his pic-
tures on his trip to Africa.
An invitation was accepted
to attend an Easter Drama in
Fordwich on April 2. A social
cup of tea was enjoyed.
Four quilts were donated to
the burned out Moody family.
