Mrs. Murray dies in her 90th year A wide circle of friends was saddened to learn of the death of Mrs. S. A. Murray, Minnie Sheet, Wingham, at the Wing- ham•and District Hospital on . Friday of last week. Mrs.. Mur- ray, who was, in her 90th year, had been sick only a short time. Born in Culross Township, the former Sarah Ann Chilton. was the daughter of the late Cyril Chilton and his wife, Ann. She received her education at Salem, and in September, 1922, was married at Salem to Joseph Murray, who predeceased her. She came to Wingham in 1933. Mrs. Murray was a member of the United Church and had been a faithful member of the W. M. S. for many years. She is survived by four daugh- ters and six sons: Mrs. Thomas (Hazel) Roane, Teeswater; Mrs. Oliver (Esther) ponald, Mount Forest; Mrs. Paul (Annie)Van- stone, Wingham; Mrs. Gordon (Mary) Kerr, Wingham; Walter Murray, Richmond Hill; Ken- neth, Cooksville; Tom and Cy- ril, Goderich; Robert,,of Malton. and David of Winnipeg. There are 25 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Mur- ray was also predeceased by two sons, William in March, 1968 and Ford in January, 1960. A brother and ,a sister also survive: Mrs. Leslie (L'o 1 a ) Hanna, Guelph and Harry Chil- ton of Harriston. Service was held at the R. A. Currie & Son funeral home on. Monday, with Rev. Barry Pass- more of the Wingham United Church in charge. Temporary entombment was at the Wing • - ham Cemetery Chapel, with burial later in the Baptist Cern- etery,, Greenock. The pallbear- ers were grandsons, Murray Kerr, Wayne Murray, Gerald Roane, Richard Murray, Dean Murray and Douglas Murray. The flow- er bearers were Joe Murray and George Childs. Attending the funeral from Winnipeg were David Murray arid Joe Vanstone. Other out- , of -town relatives attending were from Woodstock, Cooksville, Richmond Hill, Toronto, Mal - ton, Mount Forest, Guelph, Fergus, Harriston, Kitchener; Waterloo, Stratford, Teeswater, Lucknow, Goderich, Kincard- ine, Hamilton and Drew. Walton, died at hishome dur- ing the night, when he was stricken with a h e a rt attack Saturday, February 15. Mr. Mc- Cutcheon had been hospitalized previously with heart attacks but death came suddenly. He was a son of the late John McCutcheon and Amanda Park- es and was born in Turnberry Township. He farmed in Turn - berry and had also 1 i v e'd in Wroxeter before moving to Wal- ton a few years ago. He is survived by his wife, the former Orvilla Hppfer; a daughter, Mrs. Oliver (Audrey) Riley of Wroxeter; five grand children; and two sisters, lylrs. • Bert(Iya) Nixon of Winnipeg and Miss . Luella McCutcheon • of London. • He was predeceased by a brother -Jack and a sister, Mrs. Sylvester (Tilly) Fox. He was a member of Walton United Church and had been a member bf Wroxeter U. s i t e d Church when he lived there. Rev. Derwin Docken conduc- ted service at the Moir funeral home in Gorrie on Tuesday. Pallbearers were four nephews, Ailed Griffith, Ronald and Glenn McMichael and, Lloyd Lamont, and two former neighbors, Les lie Douglas and George Gibson. • Temporary entombment was in McIntosh Cemetery Chapel. Burial will be in Wroxeter Cern- etery. Addison' Jacques was Howick native GORRIE--Addison Jacques of Sumrnerland, B. C. , formerly of Gorrie, died at his home on Tuesday. He was 59 and had been in failing health for some time. He was the son of Mrs. Ida Gallaher, Gerrie, R. R. 2 and the late ArthurIacques, and ,was born in Howick Township, February l6, 1909. He 'farmed in Howick Town- ship then moved to British• Co- '' lu mbia where he operated. a motel. After selling the motel he worked for a trucking firm. He was a member of Summer - land United Church and was al- _ so a Mason. Besides his mother, Mr. Jacques is survived by his wife, the former Velma Zimmerman; three daughters, Mrs. Daniel (Katherine) Stychyshyn of York - ton, Sask. ; Mrs. Bruce (Karen) Gilmore, Listowel; and Janette, a student at University of Vic- toria. There are two sisters, Mrs. Thomas (Marjorie) Hutch-' ison and Mrs. Thomas (Mary) McClement, both of R. R. 2, Gorrie; and six grandchildren. Funeral service was held at Su mmerland United Church" on Friday with burial in Summer - land Cemetery.. k
