that winter was around last week
just talk to someone who was
trying to drive the first few -
days of the Week!
The Midgets played Fordwicb
on Monday evening in Belmore,
defeating them 4-3; our scorers
were Rick McPhersqn with 2,
David Ireland and Alan Dickson,
1 each. On Friday night they
went to Kurtzville and those
lads will be wishing they had
stayed home, for our boys clob-
bered them 8-1. Alan knocked
in half the goals, with Rick
getting credit for 3, and David
1.
.The Bantams played only
one league game -Friday even-
ing in-Belmore with Fordwich,
and Friday was the night for
8-1 scores for theirs was the
same as the Midget score. Our
Bantam scorers were Mervyn
Weishar with 3, Richard Inglis
with 2, Douglas Jeffray, Pat
O'Malley and Jim klarkness with
1 each. That tearri also played
two exhibition games last week
winning 5-4 over Mildmay and
being defeated 4-3 by Teeswa-
irnoqier lose game.
• PeeWee games were !von -
day evening at Belmore when
• .they weie defeated 6-1 by
Kurtzville, Jim McBurney get-
ting the only score; and Friday
evening at Kurtzville with the
same team. Need we, tell you
the score? You're right --it
was 8-1 again, our boys on the
losing end, with Paul Inglis the,
lone scorer.
The Squirts played at Ford-
wich on Saturday, defeating
that team 3-0. Goals were
scored by Jim Mawhinney, Paul
Dickson and Garth Dickert,
with Tim Heifer in the net for
another shutout.
The Tykes played on Satur-
day with Wroxeter, in the first
of a best -of -three serni-final
series. They defeated Wroxe-
ter 7-5, David Kieffer, aJunior
Bobby Hull, getting 411 7 goals,
if you please!
LADIES' BONSPIEL
The ladies held a bonspiel at
the local rink On Friday. Clara
McArthur with Ev Jackson. Aud-
rey Ritter and Norma Strong won
first prize and received bath
cubes. Runner-up was Nona
Elliott, skip, Emily Williams,
Jean Shepherd nd Jennie Majka.
They won coffee mugs.

Successful bonspiel
DELMORE--Despite the
severe winter storm that bomb-
ed through the area on the two
preceding days, Wednesday ,
saw a full house come to the
Belmore Arena to curl at the
annual bonspiel. Twenty rinks
were in attendance, from as far
as Ripley on one side. Palmer-
ston on the other.
Winner of the 9 o'clock draw
and the 'William Elliott Trophy
was Jack Elliott's rink from
Ripley with three wins and a
plus of 17. Other prize winners
