Institute met at the home of,
Mrs. Stan Lockwood with 12
members and one visitor pres-
ent. In the absence of the
president, Mrs. Ronald McMi-
chael conducted the meeting.
She opened With the creed of
the'Country Woman of Tasman-
ia. The,roll call was answered
by naming a former industry.

Lunch was served by Mrs.
Margaret Adams, Mrs. Wright,
Mrs. Sharpin and the hostess.

HONEY BUTTER SAUCE
3/4 cup liquid honey
-2 tablespoons butter
3/4 to 1 teaspoon lemon juice ,
1/4 teaspoon vanilla
Mix honey and butter in a
small saucepan. Heat slOwly
until well blended., Coolslight-
ly and add flavorings. Serve
warm with pancakes or waffles.
Makes 3/4 cup sauce.
Thit would also be good
on hot gingerbread.

a paper on the women of the
New Testament. She suggested
that since much of the work in
the church is carried out by
women it would be interesting
to' look back on some of the
women from that time_

Mary, the mother of Jesus, and
there were several other Marys,"
Mrs. Hamilton said.
Mary of Bethany is rerhem-
bered for her willingness to sit
at Jesus' feet, listening to his
word while her sister Martha
prepared the. meal. Later Mary,
annointed Jesus' feet.
There/ was Mary, Mother of
Mark, who prayed in her home
r` Peter when he was in prison.
There was Mary, mother of

of a three Marys who stood
the cross of Jesus, later an-'

James Vittie celebrated their
50th wedding anniversary on
Sunday, January 12„ when their
family held open house for them
in Trinity Anglican Church.
About 2 50 friends and relatives
called during the afternoon and
They were. married in North
Wales, British Isles, january
15th, 1919 and came to Canada
in September of the'same year.
Township and enlisted in March,
1916. He went overseas with
the 161st.Huron.Batialion and
transferred to the 58th. Upon •
returning. to Canada they farm- ,
ed, on the 12th Concession of
ItOwick for 20 years, then mov-
ed -to Gorrie for one year, spent
back in 1644 to farm again On
the 2nd Con.cession of Howick
until they moved to Fordwich
threelears ago.
Mr. and Mrs. Vittie have '-
.."tWo_daughters, Mrs. William
(Jean) Sothem and Mrs. Carl
(Joan) Stewart, both of Ford-
wich. There.are four grand-
children and three,great-grand- •
children. •
Both enjoy good health and
are quite active. They,are
members of the Anglican
Church. •
Mrs. Vittie has one sister,
Mts. Harry Nixon of Winnipeg.
Manitoba. •
They received several long
distance ,pho ne calls from
friends unable to attend, and
also many lovely gifts.
