AN. OLDJASHIONED CHRISTMAS -- Pupils of 'East Wawanosh Public ,
Schbol performed Monday afternoon for an audience of other pupils and
a few parents. The performance was a dress rehearsal for the. Christmas
play to be presented at the school. During the above scene the youngsters
played' the part of oldsters as they sang a song relating the aches and
pains which accompany rheumatism. The children were all in good voice
and quite authentic in action,, No doubt they had a good instructor.

Wingham 9 Shelburne 2'
Barry Frylogle fires hat trick
Oh, sweet revenge! The
Sports sure got revenge for their
earlier loss in Shelburne as
they clobbered the Shelburne
Intermediates to,the tune of
9 to 2 at the Iocal arena last
Tuesday night. Barry Fryfogle
was the big . gun, firing three
goals so don't be surprised if
you hear him singing "Anything
Bobby Hull can do, I can do
too. "
The Sports struck early as
Elwood Irwinscored at the 1.07
mark with assists going to Ken
Houston and Ken Henry.
. Shelburne evened the count
at 4.32 as Captain,Wanless
scored unassisted.. Ross Forster
put Wingham back in die lead
as he beat Horsley in the Shel-
burne net with Fryfogle and
Iiee assisting at 6.16. Score at
end
lof first period, Wingham
2 -Shelburne 1.
. SECOND PERIOD
The second period was a
close checking period, with
Wingham adding another goal
to their lead as Houston scored
on play with Peacock'•and Eng-
lish.
THIRD PERIOD
Wingham struck fast, with
Fryfogle scoring at the 21 sec-
ond mark, firing home a pass
from Lee and Forster. At 1.38
Shelburne scored their second
and final goal as West took a
pass from. Foster and beat Sutton
in the local net.
From this point it was all
Wingham--the Shelburne boys
had just run out of gas. Don
Lee tipped in a pass from Ross
Forster at 9.34. Ross Peacock
teamed with defencemen John
McTavish and Jim English to
put the locals ahead 6 to 2 at
14."34.and less than 30 seconds
later John McTavish took a pass
from Elwodd Irwin and dented

the twine. Barry Fryfogle pick-
ed up his•second goal at 16.57
with. Forster and Irwin assisting.
Then, with time running out,
Barry Fryfogle fired his third
goal for the hat trick at 19.23
-with assists to McTavish . and
English.
SHORT SHOTS.... That fust '
line, of Forster, 'Fryfogle and
Lee was sure flying, picking up
five of the goals... Doug Niel, .
still on the sidelines with a sore
shoulder, must be wondering
how he's going to win back his
job at centre on that first line
...18 penalties handed out, 9
to each team. Two of the pen-
alties were of the 5 minute
variety to Litt and Wanless for
roughing.. Defence came up
with a good game, particularly
the twosome of English and
McTavish not only playing
sound defensively but adding to
the offensive game with Mc-
Tavish picking up a goal and
two assists and English getting
3 assists.
Ross Forster shines
as Sports win
The crowd was down some-
what last Saturday as the Sports
came up with their best game •
to date, to down Elora 7 to 5
in, a most exciting game.
Ken Houston took a pass from
Elwood Irwin and beat Keating
in Elora net to give the Sports
an early lead at 6.23. Elora
bounced back and before the
first period ended had grabbed
a 2 to 1 lead on goals by D.
Watt and L. Drone.
SECOND PERIOD .
Drone beat Sutton in the lo-
cal net at 2.35 and you couldn't_
help but think, "Boy, this looks
like a repetition of the first
game between these two teams';
when Wingham scored the first
goal, trailed 2 to 1 after the
• first period and then weresound-
ly trounced. However, such .
was not the case. The boys
started to hustle and outplayed
the Elora team for the balance
of the game.
Ross Forster grabbed the -
faceoff and had thepuck in the
net before Elora knew what
happened. Any . youngsters
wanting pointers on winning
faceoffs should watch Ross Forst-
er --very rarely does he lose the
face-off.
At 17.24 Wingham evened
the count as George Kerr fired
the puck into the Elora e'id and
Herbie Litt' gave the extra ef-
fort in getting the puck out from
behind the net to Rick Fleming
who made no mistake in firing
it home. Less than 30 seconds
later Wingham grabbed the lead
as Ross Forster scored his second
goal of the game with assists
going to "the Berry Door Boys"
.Bain and Fryfogle.. Score end
of second,. Wingham 4 --Elora
3.
THIRD PERIOD
Elora got a goal from Mont-
gomery at the 4.42 mark and
it was anyone's game. Wing -
ham boys skated well and hit
well, and Sutton in the Wing-
ham net made some key saves.
At 8.12, the forward line of
Houston,. Peacock and Irwin
put Wingham in the lead with
Irwin scoring, not one of his.
prettiest goals. Less than a
minute later George Kerr put
Wingham 2 goals up as he fired
his first goal of the season With
Fleming and Litt assisting.
Elora pulled back in conten-
tion as Fisher scored unassisted.
However at the 18.58 mark
Fleming threw a perfec pass o

SHORT SHOTS...Second win
for the: locals this week bringing
the record to 5 wins and 3 los-
ses,.. This° victory was there-
sult of good goal tending, sound
defence and three balanced for-
ward lines. Notice how the
goals were distributed, 3 goals
to first line and 2 goals to each
of the other lines.', .Referees
called a good game. Some
cheap penalties but called same
against both teams and kept the
game under control... Another
injury as Herbie Litt was taken
° heavily into the boards in .the
dying minutes of the game.
Glad to report examination at
the hospital reveals no broken
bones, only bruisedneck mus -
See the new scoreboard
is up but not working yet. When
Jim?... That old problem, the
timeclock not liking the rather
cold night started to be a little
stubborn near the end of the
game... Special thanks to lo-
cal Ford dealer, Bridge Motors
for supplying the team with a
number bf pucks... As you prob-
ably noticed complete league
schedules are available at vari-
ous locations, courtesy The
Listowel Banner and Wingham
Advance -Times... Sorry for an
oversight last week. Forgot to
say Thank You to our drivers to
Elora, Harold Kerr, Ed Bauer,
and Charlie Lee... No home II
games this week, but the boy
go to Kincardine Friday night
which completes the schedule
with the teams of the Northern
division... Be prepared, it ap-
pears as though the new year
will bring a slight increase in
prices to adults and students .
and a charge of perhaps 25¢ on
children. Even at these prices
it's the biggest entertainment '
bargain in the area!
