Gifts presented by euchre club WHITECHURCH--On Friday evening the group.that played Cards at Currie's School held their card party in the Belgrave Community Hall, under the supervision of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Taylor and Mr. and Mrs. Ken Currie. There were 15 tables in play with the winners being, high lady, Mrs. Bob Arbuckle; low lady, Mrs. Reavie; high gent, Lloyd Montgomery, low gent, Russel Fear. Winners- of most lone hands in hearts were Mrs. Jim Currie and Jim Wilson. Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Currie, newlyweds, were addressed by Lawrence Taylor and Ken Cur- rie, Norman Coultes, Ronald. McBurney and Bruce Currie pre- sented them with an electric fry pan, frond kitchen clock, ironing board iand cover, ash tray, living room table and lamp. Mr. and Mrs. Currie expressed their thanks. Mrs. Peter Brown gave a chapter from the study book, "Christ- , mas' ", Minutes of the last meeting were read by Mrs. W. Hargrave. Several cards were signed for shutins and friends. A report was given bit the rector on a meeting several members at- tended recently in Exeter. Plans were completed for the banquet at the nursing hpme on Monday night. It was alto dediced to continue with Secret Pals for 1969. and meetings will be the first Wednesday of each month. A Christmas pageant will be held in the church on Decem- ber„27. A donation of $100.00 was given to the General Fund of the church. 'Miss Elva Foster gave a Christmas reading. Four mem- ber* wilrmakeaout programs for the Coming year. Rev. Songs, reci- tations, readings and plays were then presented by three McIn- tosh classes; the kindergarten under the direction of Mrs. Walter Renwick and Mrs. Leon- ard Harper; primary, Mrs. Jack Inglis and Bruce Harkness; jun- ior, Mac Inglis; three classes from Belmore; kindergarten, Mrs. Harry Mulvey in charge; primary, Mrs. Earl Pitch; and jtinior, Lavonne 13allagh; and the Hi -C group, under the lead- ership of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Renwick.
