Mrs. Stover, 79, died at the
home of her daughter, Mrs.
Nelson Armstrong of Catherine
Street, on December 2. She
had suffered a long illness.
The former Beatrice Percival
was born in England. She was
married to Hiram James Stover
in Toronto. He predeceased
her in 1938.
Mrs. Stover is survived by
sons, William James Stover of
Scarborough and Arthur Stover
of St. .Catharines, .and daugh`
ters, Mrs. Bert (Esther) Sher-
wood of Edmonton and Mrs.
Nelson (Viola) Armstrong: of
Wingham. There are seven

Robert A, Powell, Well-
known and life -log resident of
Turnberry Township and the
town of Wiughant, died in °
Wftigharn and District Hospital
on December b following a long
illness. Mr, Powell was in his
69th year.
His parents, the late Thomas
Kemp Powell and Mary Ann -
Musgrove, lived in Turnberry
Township where he was born
and attended school. He later
farmed in the same township,
retiring to Wingham 17 years
ago. Mr. Powell served on the
Turnberry Township Council
and was an agent for the How -
ick Fire Insurance Company
for 35 years. He was a mem-
ber of St. Paul's Anglican
Church.
He married Edith Jenkins on
October 22, 1924.
Surviving besides his wife
are a son, T. Edward. of Turn -
berry; two daughters, Mrs. '
Ralph (Mary) Seddon of Kitch- - r
ener and Mrs. Keith (Delia)
Johnston of Wingham; ten
grandchildren; and a brother,
Thomas Powell of Winnipeg.
Rev. Herschel W, Hamilton
conducted funeral service at
the R. A. Currie and Son fun-
eral home with interment in
Wingham Cemetery on Satur-
day afternoon. The' pallbearers
were 'Henry Wheeler, Frank
Salter, Elgin Johnston, Alvin
Procter, Walter Woods and Bill
Taylor. Two grandsons, Leon-
ard Johnston and Thomas Pow-
ell, were flower bearers.

first car in Whitechurch. Mr.
McClenaghan, whose mind'is
very alert promptly answered

with Mr, and Mrs. Melvin Mc-
Clenaghan.

, A native of East W eanosh,
Mrs. William Charters of Fort •
Benton, Montana, died. Wed-
nesday of last week in Deacon's
Home, Great Falls, Montana,
in her 90th year.
She was the former Clara
McBurney, daughter of the late .
Hugh McBurney and Annie Ben-
gough. She attended school in-
East
n-East •Wawanosh and was also
married in that township in 1903
to William Charters. He pre-
deceased her in 1929.
Mrs. Charters is survived by
two sons, Frank and Elmer, both
residents of Montana, and one
brother, Stuart McBurney of
Wingham. There are nine
grandchildren.
Besides her husband she was
predecdaed by a son, one
daughter, four brothers and 'two
sisters.
Funeral service was held
Friday at Fort Benton with buria:
in Great Falls Cemetery.
