Reformgtio n
Sunday at
Wroxeter U.C.
WROXETER--Our Protestant
Heritage was the theme of Rev,
George Sach's message for
Reformation Sunday at the
United; Church.
The children's story related
that the Bible has come to us
in many languages. In one
United Church in Woodstock
two elders still carry in .the Bi-
ble and open it according to the
-old 'tradition,
Martin Luther started ggaspark
of i'tlurninat ai.'4 i'Years ago
when he '!failed his thesis to a
church door in Germany.. He
brought good news of the cross,
that sinners were made right
with God through Christ. The
Church -of -Rome was very pow-_
erful and it took great courage .
to become a protestant Christ-
ian. One hundred and fifty
years ;before Luther, John Hass
had been burned to death for
his faith. Knox, Calvin, Wes-
ley and Luther would call us to
venture and dedicate 'ourselves
positively, not negatively, Mr.
Sach said.
While Luther was studying to
become a priest his soul was
starved, but finally the light
came through and he started
to tell the evangelic gospeL
Mankind lives in a scienti-
fic age but science cannot serve
us. Science has created a
world where Christians must be
dedicated or lose their souls.
The junior choir sang the
anthem, "Lift up your Heart"
by E. J. Lorenz.
The annual fall Thankoffer-
ing of the United Church Wo-
men held the first Sunday in
November will be addressed by
Rev. Sach when he will speak
on his experiences in Central
Asia.
