FORDWICHH--The annual
meeting of the Canadtau bible
Society was field in the United
Church here when the new of-
ficers elected were Ken Gra-
ham, president; Elva Foster,
vice-president and Earl Cober,
secretary -treasurer.
Rev. Cowan of Brampton,
new area secretary, showed an
excellent film on the work of
the Bible Society in Japan.
A discussion was held on the
work of the society. An ex-
ecutive meeting will be held to
select conveners.

Mrs. Jack Kerwin and chil-
dren spent Thanksgiving week-
end in the .Toronto area with
Mr. Kerwin; Mrs. Kerwin's par-
ents, Mr. and Mrs. Dingman;
and six. of Mrs. Kerwin's broth/`
ers and sisters and their famil-
ies. We are pleased that Mrs.
Kerwin has been "taking physio-
therapy
h io-
therapy which may avoid an
operation. A bit more bad
luck, though, as Mrs. Kerwin
stepped on a rusty nail a few
weeks. ago. That wound, too,
is on themend and she is now
feeling better which will enable
her and her family to spend
more week -ends at Toronto
where her husband is not at-
tending Bible College.
The holiday week -end was a
lucky one for some hunters of
our area. A carload of young
men journeyed up north and
Russ Baird carne home with a
.moose, which is estimated at
about 1000 pounds in weight. •

In the obituary of William
N. Robertson last week it. was,
reported that he retired in 1934.
We are sorry to have made'an
error. He moved from EastWa-
wanosh to Turnberry in 1934
where he 'farmed until he retir-
ed about five years ago.. •

brook.
Mrs. Ivan Wightman was
named to attend London Area
convention to be held in Inger-
soll, November 5th and 6th.
Mrs. J. M. Coultes offered to
buy a birthday present for the
war veteran at Westminister
Hospital, London.
The 4-H course "Focus on
Finishes" will be held one day
a week in November. Anyone
interested in taking this course,'

Praveen Ahuja celebrates
his first year in Canada
Praveen Ahuja, physiother.a-
\pist at Wingham and District
Hospital,held a dinner at.Dan-
ny's Restaurant recently for
friends and co-workers. The
dinner was, in -appreciation of
their friendship and assistance
in his getting established in his
Work and the Community. It .
was also a celebration of the
first anniversary of his arrival in
Canada.
Attending the dinner were
Mrs. I. Morrey, Miss Zina Hop-
wood, Mayor and Mrs. DeWitt
Miller, Mr. - and Mrs. Maurice
Stainton, Mr. and Mrs. Monty
Bennett, Mr. and Mrs„ Ed Field-
ing and Mr. and Mn. H. Nel-
son of Listowel. '
_ Mr. Abuja's home is in New
Delhi, India, where he gradu=
ated with honors as a physio-
therapist in 1965. He worked
for two years at the 'Irwin Hos-
pital in that city. On Septem-
ber 21 of last year he arrived in
Canada having accepted a po-
sition as chief physiotherapist
at Grand Prairie Municipal Hos-
pital in Alberta. He came to
Wingham on December 1, 196'?.
Mr. Ahuja wrote his examina- •
tions for Canadian registration
in May and qualified. He hopes
to further his education in the
United States; perhaps rne.xt
year.
Praveen Ahuja is , the young-
est of a family of eight chid-
(ien, the others all living in
India. His brother is a doctor
on the prime minister's person-
al medical staff.
Mr. Ahuja's father die d
three years , ago. •His mother'
lives in New Delhi.
