county planning
GOERICH.-A panel discus-
sion on the subject of county •
planping has been prepared for
presentation by CKNX-T Von
June 27, II, B. Such, chair-
man, Industrial and Tourism
Committee, informed Huron
County Comma at its session in
Goderich. Members of the
comMittee and others will par-
ticipate.
Mr. Such, who is reeve of
Goderich, reported that the
committee had met on several
occasions since -the April session
and had been concerned mainly
with county planning. He re-
ported that meetings had been
held in Clinton, Exeter and
Wingham to which the general
public had been invited.
"For the most part% opinion
appears to be that now is the
time for planning, but the ac-
tual setting up of the machinery
to establish planning has not
been determined," he stated.
"There seems to be consider-
able merit toward county plan-
ning with the cooperation of
the present planning boards now
established in the county."
' Mr. Such said that at pres-
ent the committee is not in a
position to make any firm rec-
ommendation to council, and
requested county council mem-,
bers to come up with sugges-
tions as to the next steps to be
taken.
