Mrs.. Alvin. Higgins gave ,a
paper on " Amos the Prophet'.
She reminded the group that if
this is God's world which He- has
granted us the privilege of liv-
ing in for. a little while, He
probably has plans for the way
His people shall live. Mrs..
Higgins_ said that we are enjoy-,
ing a period -of prosperity which
carries heavy responsibilities .
With this abundance people are
apt) to forget their Christian In-
heritance and become selfish
and, proud.

"times,,of prosperity and forgot
God. They ifell into sin and
were completely destroyed as a
nation. God sent Amos to warn
the Israelites to warn them •of
their danger. They repeatedly
refused to tura from their evil'
ways and finally sent Amos
away.' In 7.22 B.C. it happen- -
'ed. and Israel was qp more. •
Mrs. Higgins said that with
-today':Q education and learning
the more sufficient people be-
come unto -themselves and na-
tions are beginning to forget
God. The world'is still God's
workshop for the making of
men. The Bible is the guide
and if people,re.fuse the Light it
will b'e withdrawn from them.
