BLUEVALE-• On Friday ev-
ening the .Morris Euchre Club
held a surprise party at the •
home of Mr. and Mrs. Mel
Craig in honor of their 25th
wedding anniversary. • Mrs.
Charles Bosman read an ardtdress
and Bernard Thomas presented
them with a plate glass :mirror.
Over 50 friends and neigh-
bors enjoyed an evening of
.euchre. Lunch ,as enjoyed by
all. -
Thirty friends gathered at
the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bert
' Garniss on Sunday afternoon to
entertain Mr. and Mrs. Mel
Craig in viewof their 25th
wedding anniversary. A buffet
lunch was served.
MIA, George Hetherington
read an address and a gift of an
=electric toaster was presented
by Kathy. Willits and Mary Edith
Garniss.
Craig relatives held a dinner
at Danny's Restaurant on Satur-
day evening for Mr. and Mrs.
Craig and presented gifts to
thern at their home following
tee dinner. On May lst, the
Armstrong family met at the
home of Mr..and Mrs. Craig.
Gifts were received and the ev-
ening was spent in a social
Manner.
--Mrs. Basil Davidson of
Hamilton spent the week -end
with her mother. Mrs. Leask
McGee of John Street, and her
mother accompanfed her to
Hamilton on Tuesday.

meeting of the •United Church
Women was held at the home
of Mrs. Archie Miller. Fifteen
members answered the roll calls
Mrs. Miller opened the
meeting with "A Message •of
Spring" . The Easter theme
was followed throughout the
worship period.
Mrs. Stewart Higgins' gave
the chdpter from, Japan Profile
entitled, "A Country Town
Minister". which tells of the
struggles and sacrifices of a
natrve Japanese toobtain his
training, then of his devotion
as he ministers in his small
church.
An Easter story was read by
Mrs. •Miller. - • •
The president, Mrs. Ken
Edgar, conducted the business
and the meeting closed with
the Mizpah benediction. Lunch
was served by the hostesses.

Star attended the morning ser -
Cice at St. Paul's Anglican
hurch oh Sunday. Rev.' 1-I.W.
Hamilton, rector of the church
conducted the service and
preached the sermon, in which
he outlined the basic divisions
of the Bible. He said that
Scripture is a historical record
of the growth of the Church
from .Ord Testament times.
The lessons for the day were
read by the Worthy Patron and
Worthy.Matron of the Eastern
Star, Mr. and Mrs. William
Wharry. Mrs. Murray Gaunt '
and Mrs. Jim English•sang "The
Stranger of -Galilee" as a duet,
accompanied by the church or-
ganist, Mrs.. G. L. Davidson.

Mary Jane Slosser wed
in double -ring ceremofl
Yellow mums and lilies de-
corated Sacred Heart church on
Saturday afternoon for the wed-
ding of Mary Jane Slosser and
Roland Joseph Richard, both -of
Kitchener. ,Rev. John Mooney
officiated for the double -ring
ceremony and Mrs. Richard
Campeau, sister of the bride ,
was organist. ,
The bride's white peau -de -
sole A-line gown with lace trim
was floor4ength with, a chapel
train of Alencon lace.. She wore
a three-tier veil caught with, a
large rose, and carried white
roses and lily -of -the -valley.
Mr. Slosser gave his daughter
in marriage... •
Mrs. Nancy. Boll of Simcoe
was the matron of honor and
Miss Constance Slosser of Witter
ham was bridesmaid. Both are
sisters of the brides They wore
floor -length A-line dresses of
heaven blue peau-de-soie with
matching head-dresses. They
carried white roses. , •
The bride's niece, Rachelle
Campeau, was the flower girl.
Her floor -length dress was of
yellow peau-de-soie. She wore
a matching headdress and car-
ried white roses.
Robert Gallant was best Man.
and the ushers were Brian Irvine
and - Robert Watson, all.el Kit-
chener.
• Following the ceremony din-
ner was served at the Legion
Home and a -reception followed
at the home of the bride's par-
ents. ,An honored guest at the
wedding was the bride's grand-
mother, Mrs. Alphonse. Weber
of Mildmay.
The bride's mother wore a
jade green lace dress with hat
and accessories to match,; and
a corsage of white carnations.
For the wedding trip tO
.Niagara Falls, Mrs. Richard
wore a pink suit with hat to a Q
match. She is a graduate of, -
Marjorie, Elaine Snell of
Bluevale and Ronald Bruce El-
liott of Gorrie exchanged` wed-
ding vows Friday, April 26 at
Knox Presbyterian Church in
Bluevale. • The evening cere-
mony was performed by Rev. E.
R. Hawkes.
Baskets of white and yellow
mums decorated the church. -
Mrs. Nora Moffat was the or-
ganist and Miss Ann McKereher
sang two solos, "I'll Walk Be-
side You" and "The Wedding
Prayer".
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Snell of
Bluevale and the groom, is the '
son of Mr.• and Mrs. Lloyd El-
liott of Gorrie.
Mr. Snell gave his daughter
in marriage. Her sheath gown
Of sheer .silk over satin featured
a rose -point lace bodice with
bateau neckline and elbow -
length sleeves. Back interest
was the lace -edged cahedral
train which fell•from the shoul-
ders-. Her tiered nylon tulle
veil was held by a silk floret
crown adorned with aurora bor-
ealis crystals. She carried a
bouquet of whitecarnations
with green ivy.,'

Her attendants were Diane
Casemore of Wingham as maid
of honor, Bonnie Elliott of Gor-
rie and Sharon Sothern of Pal-
merston, sisters of the groom
as bridesmaids. They were
gowned in floor -length sheath
dresses of peppermint organza
with cascading back trains.
Their headdresses of rose petals
had swirling veils and they wore
matching shoes and white
gloves. They carried white and
yellow mums with ivy., .
The bride's sister, Katherine
Snell, was flower girl. She
wore a white chiffon over green
taffeta dress and carried a bask-
et of whiteand yellow mums.
The best man was Brian El-
liott, brother ofthe grobm. and
Gerald Snell, brother of the
bride, and Ricky Elliott, broth-
er of the groom were ushers.
The .reception was held in
the Bluevale Hall.
The bride's rrtother wore a
three-piece suit of light blue
linen with white accessories
and corsage of white mums.
The groom's•inother chose a
two-piece navy and white linen
ensemble with navy accessories
and corsage of pink carnations.

ensemble with yellow and green
straw hat, yellow gloves and
beige accessories. . She wore a
corsage of yellow roses. ,

Mr. Riehl was .married on April
19 to Rachel E. Levy of St.
Marys, daughter of Mr. Frank.

Church manse and was perform-
ed by Rev. Morden.
The bride was given in mar-
riage by her father and Miss -
Bernice Kalp of Stratford was
her only attendant. Len Wilson
of, Galt was the best man,
Guests from Wingham,
Walkerton, Toronto, Galt,
Stratford and St. Marys attend-
ed the reception which follow-
ed at the home, of the bride's
father in St. Marys.
Mr. and Mrs. Riehl will live
in Stratford.
Mary Hastings
euchre party
The Mary Hastings Club
held a successful euchre on
Monday afternoon when 28
tables were in play. d
High prizes went to Miss M.
Hehn and Mrs. L. Kreger while
Mrs. C. O' Bright won the
draw prize.
The council chamber was
pretty with spring flowers and
African violet motif designed
by the president, Mrs. H.
Aitcheson.
