Richard Inglis; Bantams, Paul
Heffer; and Midgets, Terry
Ballagh.
The coaches of Belmore's
two trophy -winning teams were
then presented with gifts by
their team members: for the
Bantams, Walter Renwick; for
the Pee Wees, Jack Inglis and
Bruce Harkness. Addresses of
appreciation were read by team
members Paul Kieffer (Bantam
and Murray McKague(Pee
Wees).
Lunch was served at the
close of the evening.
Lake Huron OMRA
Championships
decided here
Each year the Lake Huron
Zone of the Ontario Municipal
Recreation Association sponsors
hockey tournaments for Squirt,
Peewee, Bantam and Midget
teams that do not regularly "
compete in any inter -commun-
ity league.
The teams from Grey, Bruce,
and Wellington counties played
off on March 19 in Wiarton and-
the teams from' all communities
in Huron and Perth Counties,
played on March 19 in Exeter.
Champions were declared in
,the north and south and they in
turn played the finals in Wing -
ham on Saturday; March '29.
• Owen Sound Squirts shut out
Exeter 4-0 to take their champ-
ionship.
Owen Sound PeeWees out=
skated and outscored Listowel
6-0 to capture their crown.
The Bantams from Owen •
Sound kept up to the others by
taking St. Marys by the score
Of 4-2..
In the Midget encounter a
very closely fought battle bet-
ween St. Marys and Hanover: -
ended with Hanover edging SI.
Marys by the score of 5-4,
'thereby taking the Midget
championship.
DIST: CONVENTION
WILL BE HELD
IN OWEN SOUND
The. Owen Sound branch of
the Royal. Canadian Legion will
host the District C convention
this year, to 'be held April 21
and 22. Meetings will start at
10 a.m. each day.
The district is made up of
about &0 branches T-dbermory south to Goderich,
Stratford, .Kitchener, Shelburne,
.and north to Meaford;.
A smorgasbord supper on
Saturday evening will be follow•
ed by dancing and entertain-.
• trent. The wreath laying cere-
mony at the cenotaph Sunday
noon will be followed with a
1:30 banquet and the general
meeting.

Friday night's bout with St,
hiatys was a fiasco. Wingham'ri-
,lidgets lost the best -of -three
series with a final score of two
games to one.
The first period got away to
a draggy start and i>~ was not un-
til the third period that the
tempo quickened to champion -
,ship pace.
Between periods fans gave

gave a few quiet hints,
