Teachers wed in holidays
Jane Elizabeth McAfee,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs, Tho-
mas McAfee of Teeswater and
Murray Allen McLennan, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Mc-
Lennan, also of Teeswater,
were married in Teeswater Un-
ited d Church on March 16, Rev,
John Downing performed the
double -ring ceremony.
The bride was given in mar-
riage by her father. She chose
a white Rose of Sharon brocad-
ed satin A -lime gown with em-
pire waist and lily -point sleev-
es. She wore a shoulder -length
veil and carried a cascade of
pink rosebuds and ivy.
Her attendants. Margaret
Dickison of Scarborough. Mar-
ion Green of Guelph and the
groom's sister, Ruth McLennan
of Kitchener wore shocking pink

with white lace insets at the

sleeves and short white gloves.,

The bride's mother received
guests at the reception in the
church parlor. She wore a
periwinkle blue two-piece suit
with matching accessories and
pink corsage. She was assisted
by the groom's mother wearing
an aqua blue suit dress with
matching accessories and pink
corsage.
Mr. and Mrs. McLennan
left on a trip to the Eastern
United States. The bride trav-
elled in a cancel, hair suit with
.matching tam. brown accessory-
ies and a corsage of bronze
MUMS.
• Mr. McLennan is on the
Wingham District High School
teaching staff and Mrs. McLen-
nan is teaching at Hillcrest
Public School in Teeswater.
They will reside in Wingham.

Baker of Ottawa; and Sharon
Rose Mund, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Hector Mund of Vir-
deu, Man., was performed,by
Bishop Gough in the Church of
Jesus Christ' of LatterDay `
Saints, Medicine at, on Sat-
urday, March 16th. The church
was decorated with baskets of
red and,•white carnations.
The` bride was dressed in a
long white satin gown with . a
train, trimmed with .white fur.
She carried a cascade of white
and_ yellow rosebuds,

friend of the bride, acted as
maid of honor. She wore a
gown Of red velvet and white
satin, with headdress and Mat-
ching shoes. Bridesmaids were
Karrol Mund and Irene-Mund, -
sisters of the bride who wore
identical dresses to that of the
.maid of honor. All carried
white fur muffs decorated with
red carnations.
• The groom was dressed in
the red serge uniform of the
.p.C. M.•P. and his brother,
Robert Baker of Ottawa, was
his best',man. The guests were
ushered by Cst. Robert Weir of
the R.C. M. P, of Virden, and
Mr. John Baker, brother of the
groom.
The organist played the ,
traditional wedding march as
the bride entered the church
with her father. .The soloist
sang, " Whither Thou Guest"
and "I'll Walk Beside You".
..The reception was held at
the Connaught Golf • and Coun-
try Club for 70 guests. Tele-
grams were read from relatives
and friends who were not able
to attend.
The bride's mother wore a
dress of,blue lace. with a cor-
sage of white roses. The

was voted to the 75th anniveri
sary Fund for Macdonald Insti-
tute.
Mrs. Howard Harris, con-
vener of -agriculture, presented
the topic, "Agriculture then,
now and in thefuture." Mrs.
Scott Clarkson gave a very in-
formative talk on the three
prairie provinces.
Conveners of standing cortin-
mittees presented their yearly
reports. Lunch hostesses were
Mrs, R. Gibson, Mrs. Harold
Doig and Mrs. Les Loughran.

tells of trip
to Holy Land
On Tuesday of last week the
Evening Guild of St. Paul's
'Anglican Church met at the
home of Mrs. Helen Curzon.
Josephine Street, The meet-
ing was opened with a prayer
and Scripture reading by Mrs.
Cutzon.
Mrs. Robert Jones conducted
the business of the evening. •
The resignation of Mrs; Donald
Kennedy, president, was read
and accepted with regret. The

vices .and ceremonies which
'take place -every day during
ly Week, ending,with the
resurrection on Easter Sunday.
She told of her visit to the se-
pulchre and what a moving ex-
perience it had been. The pic-
tures and mementoes of her
trip also brought back.happy
memories.
