week they defeated Kurtzville
two games to none in a best -of -
three series. In Monday even-
ing's game with that team,, in
Delmore, they carne Qut on the
„ smil ng end of a 15-12 score.
In Wednesday evening's game
in
Kurtzville the score was 10-5.
the scorers being Alan Dickson
with 8. Shayne Goldrich and
Kevin Kieffer with one each.
At the end of the game the Tri -
County Trophy was presented to
team captain Alan Dickson and
other members of the team, by
Stan 'Hopper of Belgrave, presi-
dent of the Tri -County League.
' With this marking the end of
scheduled games for ,all our
teams. we believe it's time to
give our young players a word
of praise and encouragement.
To the ones who won -- con-
gratulations and thanks for
bringing this honor to Belmore;
we're mighty proud of you. To
the ones who didn't win -- con-
gratulations for a fine effort and
a sincere display of good sports-
- man ship; you were all great.
your opponents only a tiny bit
greater. But we're still proud of
you and wish. you better luck
next year.
Otir speciall mention must go
to the guiding hands behind the
boys, the 'older' .boys, in our
eornrnunity who take time out
of their busy schedule to train
these lads and bring us fine
hockey games. By name they
are; Jim Renwick. behind the
Tykes; Lorne Fischer and Bill
Mulvey, Squirts; Jack Inglis. of
our winning PeeWees; *alter
Renwick. our champion Bant-
ams; and Keith Mulvey and
Pete Steuernol who worked with
our Midgets.
Our tIanks to you all for
making Belmore a fine little
village in which our youth can

Draw held
after game
The Fordwich Rockets and
Fordwich Intermediates met in
the local arena on Monday
night with the Rockets winning
5-4.._
• After the game tickets were
drawn with the winners being
Walter Demerling, first; second,
Larry Clarkson; third, Carl
D'Arcy.
Exhibition
novice action
Fordwieh was given a 4-0
thumping in Novice hockey
against Wingham on Friday
night. Coals went to Randy
MacKay with two and Peter
Hilbert and Ricky Jacklin with
singles. The lone Fordwich
goal was scored by Jim Reed.
Wingham took an early lead.
MacKay scoring from Hilbert
at 1:35. Fordwich tied the
score at 9:10, Reed from Dan
McEwan and the period ended
with the score tied 1-4
It was a different story in the
second as Wingham went ahead
with three unanswered goals,
Hilbert from Paul 'Skins at 2:10;
MacKay unassisted at 7:35; and
Jacklin from Skins at 10:35.
There were no goals ill the third
period.
'Each team picked up one
penalty but Fordwich managed
its only goal while shorthanded,
Reed off for tripping. acKay
received Wingham's on pen-
alty.
The game ended tied 4-4
and after a short rest the two,
teams carne back for overtime.
A snapshot from the blueline at
2:36 gave Petrolia a 5-4 lead,
as Skinn was badly screened on
the shot.
At 5:52 'MacLennan had pos-

in on goal with one defender

The fourth annual Midget
Tournament will be held in the
Wingham arena March 21st,
22nd, and 23r4. The tonna.

This year will `see " A" team;
from Chicago. Woodstock,
Chatham and an all-star bans
tam team from London. The
other Midget clubs are from
Dunnville, Mildmay. • Mitchell,
Kincardine, Hanover, Clinton,.
Mount Forest, Walkerton, Wat-
ford and Wingham. The "A"
teams will play round robin
competion while the "B" teams
will play a minimum of two .
games with competition •for
championship and consolation
trophies.
This has proven over the
years to be excellent hockey.
There is a lor of interest being
expressed in the all-star ban-
tam team from London, a club
which has played against mid-
get clubs,during the season and
their coach, Mr. Thomas, fns
they have a good chance of
winning the cup.
The action begins Thursday
morning. Match 21st at 9:30.
