cil at which a $20.00 -grant was

The tenders of H. N. Gowdy
for furnace oil at the township
shed, at $14.95 per 100 gallons,
and B.P. Canada for diesel
fuel at, $16.95 per 100 gallons,
were accepted. It was decided

man, Glenn Underwood, $2.00
per hour.
The clerk was instructed to
advertise for warble fly spray-
ing, powder and inspector and .
the road superintendent will
advertise for tenders for crush-
ing and delivering screened .

Council accepted the finan-
cialstatement from C.W.
Hanna, chairman of the Cen-
tennial Finance Committee.
Rece.iptS, were $6, 840.15`and .,
expenditures $6,586.02. The
balance of $254.73 was turned
over to the township.
,A petition was accepted in
regard to repairs to the Plaetzer
municipal drain and granteof
$15.00 were given to the 3uron
County Historical Society and
the Huron Connty :Soil and Crop
Improvement Association.
It was decided to call for
tenders for warble fly inspector,
spray operator and helper, and
C.W. Hanna, road superintend-
ent, was to advertise for gravel
tenders and contact Burns Ross'
office in Goderich to call tet}-
ders on the McLean bridge.
A motion was passed to in-
crease' Mr. Hanna's salary. $25
per month and the salary -of the
treasurer $10.00 per month,
both retro -active to the begin-
ning of the year.
Council accepted the 1967
tax roll as returned by the tax
collector, adopted the auditor's
report and passed a motion to
pay the auditor's fee of $600.
Road accounts amounting to
$4,630:31 and general accounts
of $1.055.78 were passed for
payment.

FORDWICH-- The annual
carnival got under ay Saturday
evening with a hockey game
between Listowel. and Fordwich
squirt teams with the visitors
, winning 6 to 1.
There were many, fine cos-
tumes which presented.a chal-
lenge for the judges who award-

The February session of
West Wawanosh.Township
Council was held at the home.
of the clerk, February .-,6th with.

reeve Lyons .presiding.
Robert McCutcheon, sales-
man for Olivetti -Underwood .°
appeared before council to
demonstrate- the company's
calculator. After lengthy, dis-
cussion of the pros and cons of
the machine, and the expressed
need, of ,a typewriter with a
larger carriage for town hip
work, it was agreed to purchase
an electric typewriter. with 15"
carriage.
Frank McQuillin appeared
before council with a query on.
the, open work portion of the -
Foran drainage works.
The reeve and clerk will.
apply to the Department of
Highways for the statutory sub-
sidy on'1967 road expenditures
in the amount of $82, 669.
The ;clerk was instructed to
write the Department ef.Agri-
culture and Food to ascertain
if warble fly spraying is still
'compulsory, and on a positive
reply, to insert advertisements
for inspector, . sprayer and war
bicide.
