Now, we knOw--lhariii referees are bums, but that particular ref- eree happened,to be George /Thomas and we think George /knows his hockey. • • To start with, George play-. • ed.high school hockey with Patterson birdin Windsor and must hae' been -good material as he soon joined theline-up with the Windsor _Spitfires in the Junior '' A" loop:. •.Atter 'he left the &pitfires, George spent three years ref- ereeing minor hockey while teaching school in Windsor. As Well as hockey, he has done • some officiating in football. Be fore he left Windsor lie had . worked with the Windsor High School Hockey League .and the ' • Windsor 'Industrial League. After George went to Strat- ford, his -talents were tapped ggain and he served with the', O. M. H. A. , the Sitatford City 'League and the Oxford Cpuntp Hockey League. Since coning to Wingham _in the fall to manage.the IAC office, •George has done a few games here including a rousing matchyith Detroit and the ° , Junior exhibition game with and came out Un- / 4 , scathed.
